ثمنت جامعة أرخبيل سقطرى ومنتسبوها كافة، المواقف الأخوية الصادقة والدعم السخي المستمر الذي تقدمه حكومة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، وولي عهده رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، لقطاع التعليم في اليمن عموماً، ومحافظة أرخبيل سقطرى خصوصاً، مؤكدة أن البصمات التنموية للمملكة شكلت حجر الزاوية في استقرار واستدامة العملية التعليمية.
تدخلات عاجلة وإنقاذ أكاديمي
وأكد نائب رئيس جامعة سقطرى، الدكتور عبدالله عمير، في تصريح خاص بـ«عكاظ»، أن التدخلات الحيوية التي نفذها البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن، بإشراف مباشر من سفير المملكة محمد آل جابر، كانت بمثابة «طوق نجاة» للجامعة، وأسهمت في استئناف الدراسة بعد فترة توقف إجبارية، وضمنت انتظام العملية الأكاديمية في بيئة تعليمية محفزة للطلاب وأعضاء هيئة التدريس، من خلال تنفيذ عملية «التدخل السريع» لإنقاذ الجامعة.
وأشار إلى أن هذه المشاريع الحيوية شملت جميع المراحل التعليمية من التعليم الأساسي وحتى الجامعي، مما ساهم في رفع كفاءة العملية التعليمية وتحسين جودة المخرجات بما ينسجم مع متطلبات التنمية واحتياجات سوق العمل.
منارات نموذجية وحراك تنموي
وكشف الدكتور عمير عن حجم المنجزات الميدانية التي تحققت بدعم المملكة، وفي مقدمتها افتتاح أربع مدارس نموذجية مجهزة بأحدث المعامل والتقنيات في مناطق «حديبو، موري، ديحمض»، فيما يتواصل العمل حالياً على قدم وساق لتجهيز مشروع المعهد الفني وكلية التربية والعلوم الإنسانية والتطبيقية في مدينة حديبو، لافتاً إلى أن استئناف الدراسة وانتظامها جاء ثمرة لتكامل الجهود بين قيادة وزارة التعليم العالي والسلطة المحلية ورئاسة الجامعة، مسنودةً بالدعم السعودي الذي انعكس إيجاباً على مؤشرات الأداء الأكاديمي والتحصيل العلمي للطلاب، ونسب الحضور والانتظام ومستوى التحصيل العلمي للطلاب الذين يبلغ عددهم حالياً 702 طالب وطالبة.

واستعرض نائب رئيس الجامعة جملة من الإنجازات المحققة، وفي مقدمتها تخريج دفعات جديدة في تخصصات (الحاسوب والمعلومات، والإدارة والاقتصاد) لرفد سوق العمل بكفاءات مؤهلة، مؤكداً وجود خطط مستقبلية طموحة بالتنسيق مع البرنامج السعودي لتنمية وإعمار اليمن، تتمثل في تطوير المناهج وفق المعايير الحديثة، وتعزيز البحث العلمي وخدمة المجتمع وتوسيع الشراكات الأكاديمية.
وجدد عمير شكر الجامعة وامتنانها للمملكة العربية السعودية على دعمها المتواصل الذي يشكل ركيزة أساسية في استقرار العملية التعليمية واستدامتها لبناء مستقبل أفضل للأجيال القادمة.

The University of Socotra Archipelago and all its affiliates highly appreciate the sincere brotherly positions and the continuous generous support provided by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, to the education sector in Yemen in general, and the Socotra Archipelago Governorate in particular. They affirmed that the developmental fingerprints of the Kingdom have formed the cornerstone for the stability and sustainability of the educational process.
Urgent Interventions and Academic Rescue
Dr. Abdullah Umair, the Vice President of Socotra University, confirmed in a special statement to "Okaz" that the vital interventions carried out by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, under the direct supervision of the Kingdom's ambassador, Mohammed Al Jaber, were a "lifeline" for the university. They contributed to the resumption of studies after a mandatory halt and ensured the regularity of the academic process in a stimulating educational environment for students and faculty members, through the implementation of the "rapid intervention" process to save the university.
He pointed out that these vital projects included all educational stages from basic education to university level, which contributed to enhancing the efficiency of the educational process and improving the quality of outputs in line with development requirements and labor market needs.
Model Beacons and Development Movement
Dr. Umair revealed the extent of the field achievements that were realized with the support of the Kingdom, foremost among them the opening of four model schools equipped with the latest laboratories and technologies in the areas of "Hadibo, Mori, and Dihemad." Currently, work is ongoing to prepare the technical institute project and the College of Education and Humanities and Applied Sciences in Hadibo. He noted that the resumption and regularity of studies came as a result of the integration of efforts between the leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education, the local authority, and the university presidency, supported by Saudi assistance, which positively reflected on academic performance indicators and the academic achievement of students, attendance rates, and the level of academic attainment for the current number of 702 students.

Dr. Umair reviewed a number of achieved accomplishments, foremost among them the graduation of new batches in the fields of (computer and information, management, and economics) to supply the labor market with qualified competencies. He confirmed the existence of ambitious future plans in coordination with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, which include developing curricula according to modern standards, enhancing scientific research, community service, and expanding academic partnerships.
Umair renewed the university's thanks and gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous support, which forms a fundamental pillar in stabilizing and sustaining the educational process to build a better future for the coming generations.
