ووري جثمان سلوى عباس غزاوي الثرى في مقبرة المعلاة بمكة المكرمة، بعد أداء الصلاة عليها في المسجد الحرام، وسط حضور كثيف من الأقارب والإعلاميين الذين حرصوا على تقديم واجب العزاء، فيما ضجّت منصات التواصل الاجتماعي بالدعوات لها بالمغفرة والرحمة.
ورحلت غزاوي بعد صراع مع المرض الذي ألمّ بها في الفترة الأخيرة، ورغم تلقيها الرعاية الطبية اللازمة، كانت مشيئة الله أسرع، لتترك إرثاً من الأخلاق والسمعة الحسنة.
وتعد الراحلة ابنة الإعلامي والدبلوماسي الراحل عباس غزاوي، أحد أبرز مؤسسي الإذاعة والتلفزيون في المملكة، الذي شغل مناصب دبلوماسية مرموقة عدة خلال مسيرته، ما جعل اسم العائلة مرتبطاً بتاريخ طويل من العطاء الإعلامي والدبلوماسي.
وتستقبل أسرة الراحلة المعزين في منزلها، وسط تعاطف واسع من الزملاء والأقارب، الذين عبّروا عن تقديرهم لذكرى سلوى غزاوي الحسنة.
The body of Salwa Abbas Ghazawi was laid to rest in the Al-Mualla cemetery in Mecca, after prayers were held for her at the Grand Mosque, amidst a large presence of relatives and journalists who were keen to offer their condolences, while social media platforms were filled with prayers for her forgiveness and mercy.
Ghazawi passed away after a battle with illness that afflicted her in recent times, and despite receiving the necessary medical care, God's will was quicker, leaving behind a legacy of good morals and reputation.
The deceased was the daughter of the late media figure and diplomat Abbas Ghazawi, one of the prominent founders of radio and television in the Kingdom, who held several prestigious diplomatic positions throughout his career, which made the family name associated with a long history of media and diplomatic contributions.
The family of the deceased is receiving condolences at their home, amidst widespread sympathy from colleagues and relatives, who expressed their appreciation for the good memory of Salwa Ghazawi.
