The General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, signed today (Sunday) agreements with Yemeni Prime Minister Salem bin Breik and several ministries to support development and stability in Yemen.
The first of the agreements signed between the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Yemeni Prime Minister was to support the Yemeni government's budget deficit, which comes in response to the government's priorities in facing urgent economic and developmental challenges, and to contribute to establishing the foundations of economic, financial, and monetary stability.
The General Supervisor of the program also signed an agreement with the Yemeni Minister of Electricity and Energy, Mani bin Yameen, to supply the government with the necessary oil derivatives to operate electricity stations in various provinces, in a step aimed at improving service levels and increasing electricity operating hours. He also signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Minister of Interior, Major General Ibrahim Haidan, between the Ministry of Interior and the Saudi program to support the ministry's efforts in building its institutional, technical, and technological capacities, and transferring expertise with counterpart agencies in Saudi Arabia, which contributes to enhancing institutional performance and developing the ministry's infrastructure.

Sincere Brotherhood Support

Ambassador Al Jaber stated that this support came at the direction of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who provide Yemen with all support and assistance, noting that development and human capacity building are the path to a prosperous future for Yemen, and the Kingdom's keenness to continue working with the Yemeni government.
He pointed out that this support is provided as a station of sincere brotherly support for the Yemeni government, clarifying that the goal of these agreements is to support the Yemeni government and assist it in its duties, which it performs with strength and capability in the difficulties it faces, whether political, economic, or security-related, while it plays an active role in serving the Yemeni people. Despite these significant challenges, we recognize these challenges and work to support the government to face them and serve our brothers in the Yemeni people.
He added: Sustainable development is one of the important pillars of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, and we are working within these agreements on an agreement with the Ministry of Finance to support the budget deficit in order to enhance the government's ability to support various items and provide services to our brothers in Yemen. On the other hand, the oil derivatives actually go beyond just oil derivatives to assist the Central Bank of Yemen in maintaining hard currency by providing it and not speculating on it in the Yemeni market, which also serves economic, financial, and monetary stability. There is also a memorandum of understanding with the Yemeni Ministry of Interior to enhance its capabilities and build its institutional, technical, and technological capacities, and teams in the Ministry of Interior are working with their counterparts in the Kingdom with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, and a working mechanism has been established to achieve sustainability also in the Yemeni Ministry of Interior. There are also projects with the Ministry of Justice, and buildings are being constructed in Aden to enhance the capabilities of the Ministry of Justice and the Yemeni judiciary.
He pointed out that the program works to support various institutions by all means, whether through buildings, services, or providing special capacities in various fields, indicating that in the field of education, there are educational programs to grant teaching licenses to teachers and raise their competencies through King Saud University.
He noted that there is a program with a local organization in Yemen to secure female teachers for rural girls, with around 200 teachers.

Saudi Arabia.. A Steadfast Position

For his part, Yemeni Prime Minister Salem bin Breik affirmed that the signing of these agreements, which address the core needs of the Yemeni people, is a new milestone in the solid journey of brotherhood and integration between Yemen and Saudi Arabia, and establishes a broader phase of effective partnership in supporting the general budget, supplying electricity stations with oil derivatives, and building the capacities of the Ministry of Interior.
He added: "What we are signing today is not just financial support or technical programs, but a sincere expression of a steadfast and principled position taken by the Kingdom alongside Yemen in its battle for stability and recovery, and the continuation of building under the banner of legitimacy and institutions."
The Yemeni Prime Minister pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, has been and remains a support in times of hardship and a partner in times of building, affirming that its support for Yemen has never been a reactionary response, but a strategic choice that reflects the depth of historical ties and the unity of destiny and future between the two countries and peoples.
The Yemeni Prime Minister explained that the signing of these agreements comes at a pivotal moment, as the government confidently proceeds with implementing a comprehensive national program for financial and administrative reform, rebuilding institutions, and restoring international confidence in the Yemeni state and its ability to rise from the rubble, noting that this generous support from our brothers in the Kingdom will represent a strong boost to the path of reform and economic recovery, and enhance the government's ability to meet its commitments to citizens and improve public services, foremost among them electricity, which affects people's daily lives.
He added: "We in the Yemeni government view these agreements as a message of confidence from our brothers in the Kingdom in a state that is steadily moving on the path of reform, and a message of hope for a people who trust that sincere giving only comes from their sincere brothers."
The Yemeni Prime Minister renewed the government's full commitment to managing this support with the highest standards of transparency and accountability, ensuring that it is directed towards national priorities, which enhances financial stability and rebuilds trust with the regional and international community, welcoming all brothers and friends who choose to stand with Yemen on this path.
He called on Yemen's regional and international partners to double their support for the government, its plans, programs, and reform vision, and to participate actively in investment and development, affirming that a strong and stable Yemen is a fundamental pillar for the security and prosperity of the region, noting that true partnership is not based solely on aid, but on integration in vision and destiny.
He pointed out that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been and will remain Yemen's primary partner in its grand national project to restore the state and build the future.
In conclusion, the Yemeni Prime Minister expressed, on behalf of the government and the Yemeni people, his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen for their sincere efforts, affirming that what unites the two countries is greater than financial agreements; it is the embodiment of decades of brotherhood and shared destiny, and unity of fate.
