جددت الحكومة اليمنية التزامها بالشراكة مع المجتمع الدولي لحماية الممرات البحرية وتعزيز أمن المنطقة. ودعت الاتحاد الأوروبي والمجتمع الدولي إلى إدراج جماعة الحوثيين ضمن «قوائم الإرهاب»، عقب تبنيها هجوماً استهدف سفينة الشحن الهولندية (MV Minerva Gracht) في خليج عدن.
واعتبرت الخارجية اليمنية في بيان أن الخطوة ضرورية لردع تهديدات الحوثيين المتصاعدة وفرض عقوبات رادعة عليهم وعلى داعميهم، مؤكدة أن الهجوم الأخير يعكس الخطر المباشر الذي تمثله الجماعة على حرية الملاحة وأمن التجارة الدولية.
وأوضحت الخارجية أن الحادثة تكشف بوضوح أن جماعة الحوثيين تدار وتمول لتنفيذ أجندات تخريبية تعمق مأساة اليمنيين وتهدد استقرار المنطقة.
واعتبر خبراء دوليون هجوم الحوثيين في خليج عدن تصعيداً خطيراً ينذر بالمزيد من تفاقم الوضع ويهدد الملاحة الدولية بصورة أكبر من حيث وتيرة الهجمات واتساع نطاقها الجغرافي.
وكانت جماعة الحوثي في بيان رسمي متأخر، أعلنت الأربعاء مسؤوليتها عن الهجوم الصاروخي الذي استهدف سفينة شحن ترفع العلم الهولندي الاثنين الماضي بمياه خليج عدن، ما أدى إلى إصابة اثنين من أفراد الطاقم واشتعال النيران فيها.
ويكشف الهجوم الأخير مرحلة جديدة من التصعيد، تمتد فيها تهديدات الحوثيين للملاحة الدولية إلى مياه خليج عدن وبحر العرب، بعد قرابة عام كامل من الهدوء.
ويعد هذا الهجوم هو الأخطر في خليج عدن بعيداً عن البحر الأحمر، حيث كان الحوثيون قد أغرقوا سفينتين في يوليو.
ووفقاً للمعلومات، فإن الحوثيين نفذوا أكثر من 100 هجوم على عدد من السفن منذ بدء عملياتهم في البحر الأحمر وخليج عدن، وأغرقوا 4 سفن حتى الآن.
The Yemeni government renewed its commitment to partnership with the international community to protect maritime corridors and enhance regional security. It called on the European Union and the international community to include the Houthi group in "terrorism lists," following their adoption of an attack targeting the Dutch cargo ship (MV Minerva Gracht) in the Gulf of Aden.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry considered in a statement that this step is necessary to deter the escalating threats from the Houthis and impose punitive sanctions on them and their supporters, emphasizing that the recent attack reflects the direct danger the group poses to freedom of navigation and the security of international trade.
The Foreign Ministry clarified that the incident clearly reveals that the Houthi group is managed and funded to execute destructive agendas that deepen the tragedy of Yemenis and threaten the stability of the region.
International experts regarded the Houthi attack in the Gulf of Aden as a serious escalation that warns of further deterioration of the situation and poses a greater threat to international navigation in terms of the frequency and geographical scope of the attacks.
The Houthi group, in a delayed official statement, announced on Wednesday its responsibility for the missile attack that targeted a Dutch-flagged cargo ship last Monday in the waters of the Gulf of Aden, resulting in injuries to two crew members and igniting a fire on board.
The recent attack reveals a new phase of escalation, where the Houthi threats to international navigation extend to the waters of the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea, after nearly a full year of calm.
This attack is considered the most dangerous in the Gulf of Aden, away from the Red Sea, where the Houthis had sunk two ships in July.
According to information, the Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks on various ships since the beginning of their operations in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, sinking 4 ships so far.
