أعلن رئيس الوزراء البريطاني كير ستارمر، اليوم (الأحد)، رفضه الاعتداءات على ضباط الشرطة أثناء قيامهم بواجبهم، وإشعار الناس بالخوف في الشوارع؛ بسبب خلفيتهم أو لون بشرتهم،
وقال ستارمر: «للناس الحق في المظاهرة السلمية، فهذا حق أساسي في قيم بلدنا»، مشيراً إلى أن إدارته لن تسلّم علم بريطانيا لمن ينشد العنف والخوف والانشقاق.
رفض العنف والانقسام
وأضاف: بريطانيا أمة بُنيت بفخر على التسامح والتنوع والاحترام، معتبراً أن علم المملكة يمثل تنوع بلاده، وأنه لن يسمح أبداً بأن يستولي عليه من يستخدمونه رمزاً للعنف والخوف والانقسام.
وشهدت لندن، أمس، مظاهرات كبيرة نظمها اليميني المتطرف تومي روبنسون وشارك فيها أكثر نحو 150 ألف شخص، وبحسب الشرطة فإن عدد التوقيفات أدنى من الذي أُعلن أمس خلال المظاهرة الحاشدة التي نظّمها الناشط اليميني المتطرف تومي روبنسون، فيما شارك نحو 5 آلاف شخص في مسيرة «مناهضة للعنصرية» انطلقت من على بعد نحو ميل شمالاً، إذ تم نشر نحو 1,000 شرطي للفصل بين المجموعتين المتنافستين.
24 موقوفاً
وذكرت الشرطة أنها أوقفت، اليوم، 24 شخصاً، فيما أوقفت، أمس، 26 شخصاً، بينهم ثلاث نساء و21 رجلاً، أكبرهم يبلغ 58 عاماً وأصغرهم 19 عاماً.
ونددت وزيرة الداخلية البريطانية، شعبانة محمود بمن يهاجمون أفراد الشرطة، موضحة أن أي شخص يشارك في أنشطة إجرامية سيواجه القوة الكاملة للقانون.
وُصفت المظاهرة بأنها من أجل «حرية التعبير»، التي تعد من الملفات الساخنة في المملكة المتحدة منذ أشهر عدة.
وقال روبنسون أمام الحشد: «الغالبية الصامتة لن تبقى صامتة بعد الآن، اليوم يُمثل بداية ثورة ثقافية».
رجل سوابق
يذكر أن روبنسون، المعروف بمواقفه المناهضة للهجرة والإسلام كان قد أدين مرات عدة بتهمٍ بينها الإخلال بالنظام العام، وسُجن في عام 2018 بتهمة الازدراء بالمحكمة، ثم سُجن مجدداً في عام 2024 لتكراره تصريحات تشهيرية بحق أحد اللاجئين.

Starmer said: "People have the right to peaceful protest; this is a fundamental right in the values of our country," noting that his administration will not hand over the flag of Britain to those who seek violence, fear, and division.
Rejection of Violence and Division
He added: "Britain is a nation proudly built on tolerance, diversity, and respect," considering that the flag of the kingdom represents the diversity of his country, and that he will never allow it to be seized by those who use it as a symbol of violence, fear, and division.
London witnessed large demonstrations yesterday organized by the far-right Tommy Robinson, with around 150,000 people participating. According to the police, the number of arrests was lower than what was announced yesterday during the massive demonstration organized by the far-right activist Tommy Robinson, while about 5,000 people participated in an "anti-racism" march that started about a mile to the north, with around 1,000 police officers deployed to separate the two competing groups.
24 Arrested
The police reported that they arrested 24 people today, while they arrested 26 people yesterday, including three women and 21 men, the oldest of whom is 58 years old and the youngest is 19 years old.
British Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood condemned those who attack police officers, clarifying that anyone participating in criminal activities will face the full force of the law.
The demonstration was described as being for "freedom of expression," which has been a hot topic in the United Kingdom for several months.
Robinson told the crowd: "The silent majority will no longer remain silent; today marks the beginning of a cultural revolution."
Man with a Criminal Record
It is worth noting that Robinson, known for his anti-immigration and anti-Islam stances, has been convicted several times on charges including public disorder, and was imprisoned in 2018 for contempt of court, then imprisoned again in 2024 for repeating defamatory statements against a refugee.
