رحب الأمين العام لجامعة الدول العربية أحمد أبو الغيط باعتماد الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة بأغلبية كاسحة لمشروع قرار يؤيد «إعلان نيويورك» الصادر في يوليو الماضي بشأن تنفيذ حل الدولتين وإقامة دولة فلسطينية مستقلة.
تصويت كاسح لصالح القرار
وأوضح أبو الغيط في بيان له أن التصويت الكاسح لصالح القرار يعكس إجماعًا دوليًا متزايدًا حول ضرورة تنفيذ حل الدولتين.
وأكد الأمين العام للجامعة العربية أن تبني الجمعية العامة لهذا القرار يُعزز من مخرجات مؤتمر تنفيذ حل الدولتين، ويزيد من الزخم العالمي حوله، لا سيما في ضوء اعتزام عدد من الدول الاعتراف بالدولة الفلسطينية خلال الأيام القادمة، بالتزامن مع انعقاد المؤتمر على مستوى القمة في ٢٢ سبتمبر الجاري.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's overwhelming approval of a draft resolution supporting the "New York Declaration" issued last July regarding the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
Overwhelming Vote in Favor of the Resolution
Aboul Gheit clarified in a statement that the overwhelming vote in favor of the resolution reflects an increasing international consensus on the necessity of implementing the two-state solution.
The Secretary-General of the Arab League emphasized that the General Assembly's adoption of this resolution strengthens the outcomes of the conference on implementing the two-state solution and increases global momentum around it, especially in light of the intention of several countries to recognize the Palestinian state in the coming days, coinciding with the summit-level conference on September 22 of this month.
