حذرت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي كايا كالاس اليوم (الإثنين) من خطورة الوضع في غزة، مؤكدة أن الحرب ليست الحل.
وقالت كالاس على حسابها في منصة «إكس»: لو كان الحل العسكري ممكناً، لكانت الحرب انتهت بالفعل، مؤكدة أن أولويات الاتحاد الأوروبي لا تزال تقديم الدعم الإنساني، عبر أشكال منها تمكين المنظمات غير الحكومية من الوصول إلى غزة، والوقف الفوري لإطلاق النار وإطلاق سراح باقي الرهائن.
تزامن تصريح كالاس مع تصريح رئيسة الوزراء الإيطالية جورجيا ميلوني التي عبرت عن قلقها الكبير حيال خطة إسرائيل للسيطرة على مدينة غزة، موضحة أن الوضع الإنساني في القطاع المحاصر والمدمر غير مبرر وغير مقبول. وشددت ميلوني خلال اتصالها بالرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس على الحاجة إلى وقف فوري للعمليات العسكرية لمواصلة تأمين المساعدة الإنسانية للسكان المدنيين اليائسين.
من جهة أخرى، قال رئيس أركان جيش الإحتلال الإسرائيلي آيال زامير إن قواته على أعتاب مرحلة جديدة في القتال في غزة، موضحاً أنه «سيتم تطوير الطريقة الأفضل بما يتوافق مع الأهداف المحددة، مع الحفاظ على الاحترافية والمبادئ التي نعمل بها، وسنفعل ذلك حسب جاهزية القوات والوسائل القتالية، مع وضع الرهائن في الاعتبار».
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, warned today (Monday) of the seriousness of the situation in Gaza, emphasizing that war is not the solution.
Borrell stated on his account on the platform "X": If a military solution were possible, the war would have already ended, affirming that the EU's priorities remain providing humanitarian support, including enabling NGOs to access Gaza, an immediate ceasefire, and the release of the remaining hostages.
Borrell's statement coincided with remarks from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, who expressed her deep concern regarding Israel's plan to take control of the city of Gaza, stating that the humanitarian situation in the besieged and devastated sector is unjustifiable and unacceptable. Meloni emphasized during her call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas the need for an immediate halt to military operations to continue securing humanitarian assistance for the desperate civilian population.
On the other hand, the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Occupation Army, Ayal Zamir, stated that his forces are on the brink of a new phase in the fighting in Gaza, explaining that "the best method will be developed in accordance with the defined objectives, while maintaining the professionalism and principles we operate under, and we will do this according to the readiness of the forces and combat means, taking the hostages into consideration."
