جدد وزير الخارجية المصري الدكتور بدر عبد العاطي، خلال لقائه في واشنطن مع نظيره الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، التأكيد على ضرورة التوصل إلى اتفاق دائم لوقف إطلاق النار في غزة.
وأكد أهمية وقف إراقة دماء الشعب الفلسطيني وضمان تدفق المساعدات الإنسانية إلى القطاع في ظل ما يعانيه من أوضاع كارثية نتيجة سياسة إسرائيلية ممنهجة للتجويع، وأهمية التعامل السريع مع هذه الأزمة الإنسانية الملحة.
ووفق بيان رسمي صادر عن وزارة الخارجية المصرية، دار نقاش موسع بين وزيري الخارجية المصري والأمريكي بشأن التطورات الإقليمية المتلاحقة، وفي مقدمتها الأوضاع الكارثية في قطاع غزة، والتطورات المأساوية في السودان، فضلاً عن الأوضاع في ليبيا وسورية ولبنان، وقضية الأمن المائي المصري، والأوضاع في القارة الأفريقية.
وشدد الوزير المصري على أهمية طرح أفق سياسي لتحقيق تسوية عادلة ومستدامة للقضية الفلسطينية، تتيح للشعب الفلسطيني استعادة حقوقه المشروعة، وعلى رأسها حقه في تقرير مصيره وإقامة دولته المستقلة على خطوط 4 يونيو 1967، وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية، معربًا عن تطلعه إلى مواصلة العمل الوثيق مع الإدارة الأمريكية لإرساء أسس السلام العادل والشامل في الشرق الأوسط، بما يحقق مصالح جميع شعوب المنطقة.
وتناول الوزيران الأوضاع في السودان وأهمية التوصل إلى وقف لإطلاق النار وتسهيل نفاذ المساعدات، وأكد الوزير عبد العاطي موقف مصر الداعم لمؤسسات الدولة السودانية، وضرورة احترام سيادة السودان ووحدته وسلامة أراضيه.
وفيما يتعلق بالأمن المائي المصري، تناول الوزير عبد العاطي، شواغل مصر بشأن ملف نهر النيل والأمن المائي المصري، وأطلع نظيره الأمريكي على موقف مصر القائم على ضرورة الالتزام بقواعد القانون الدولي فيما يتعلق بالموارد المائية المشتركة، موضحًا أهمية التعاون للتوصل إلى اتفاق قانوني ملزم يحكم تشغيل السد الإثيوبي.
وشدد على رفض الإجراءات الأحادية الإثيوبية المخالفة للقانون الدولي، ومؤكدًا أن مصر ستتخذ كافة التدابير المكفولة بموجب القانون الدولي لحماية أمنها المائي.
وقال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية المصرية السفير تميم خلف، إن الوزير عبد العاطي نقل تحيات وتقدير الرئيس السيسي للرئيس ترمب، واعتزاز مصر بالشراكة الإستراتيجية الممتدة بين مصر والولايات المتحدة على مدار عقود.
وبحث الوزيران سبل تطوير العلاقات الثنائية الوثيقة بين البلدين، وتبادلا الرؤى حول عدد من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وأعرب الوزير عن تطلعه إلى مواصلة التنسيق والتعاون الوثيق مع الإدارة الأمريكية بقيادة الرئيس ترمب، لتعميق أواصر هذه الشراكة في المجالات السياسية والأمنية والعسكرية والاقتصادية، بما يسهم في تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار والسلام في الإقليم، والتطلع إلى مواصلة انعقاد جولات الحوار الإستراتيجي المصري-الأمريكي بصفة دورية.
واستعرض الوزيران سبل تعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي والتجاري والاستثماري بين البلدين، حيث أشاد الوزير عبدالعاطي بنتائج منتدى الأعمال المصري-الأمريكي الذي انعقد في القاهرة في شهر مايو الماضي، بمشاركة أكثر من 50 شركة أمريكية، من بينها 12 شركة تشارك لأول مرة في السوق المصرية، بما يعكس التزام الدولة المصرية بجذب الاستثمارات وتعزيز شراكاتها الاقتصادية مع الولايات المتحدة.
وأكد الوزيران أهمية استمرار التنسيق بشأن عقد جولة جديدة من اجتماعات المفوضية الاقتصادية المشتركة، وعقد نسخة جديدة من منتدى الأعمال المصري-الأمريكي خلال الفترة القادمة، بما يعزز آفاق الشراكة الاقتصادية بين البلدين الصديقين.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, during his meeting in Washington with his American counterpart Marco Rubio, reaffirmed the necessity of reaching a permanent ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
He emphasized the importance of stopping the bloodshed of the Palestinian people and ensuring the flow of humanitarian aid to the sector amid the catastrophic conditions resulting from a systematic Israeli policy of starvation, and the urgency of addressing this pressing humanitarian crisis.
According to an official statement issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, an extensive discussion took place between the Egyptian and American foreign ministers regarding the rapidly evolving regional developments, primarily the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip, the tragic developments in Sudan, as well as the situations in Libya, Syria, and Lebanon, the issue of Egyptian water security, and the conditions in the African continent.
The Egyptian minister stressed the importance of proposing a political horizon to achieve a just and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian issue, allowing the Palestinian people to regain their legitimate rights, foremost of which is their right to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, expressing his hope to continue working closely with the American administration to lay the foundations for just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East, in a way that serves the interests of all the peoples of the region.
The two ministers discussed the situation in Sudan and the importance of reaching a ceasefire and facilitating the access of aid, with Minister Abdel Aty affirming Egypt's supportive stance towards the Sudanese state institutions, and the necessity of respecting Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
Regarding Egyptian water security, Minister Abdel Aty addressed Egypt's concerns regarding the Nile River and Egyptian water security, informing his American counterpart of Egypt's position based on the necessity of adhering to international law regarding shared water resources, clarifying the importance of cooperation to reach a binding legal agreement governing the operation of the Ethiopian dam.
He emphasized the rejection of unilateral Ethiopian actions that violate international law, affirming that Egypt will take all measures guaranteed by international law to protect its water security.
The spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, stated that Minister Abdel Aty conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Sisi to President Trump, and Egypt's pride in the extended strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States over the decades.
The two ministers discussed ways to develop the close bilateral relations between the two countries, exchanging views on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest, with the minister expressing his hope to continue coordination and close cooperation with the American administration led by President Trump, to deepen the bonds of this partnership in the political, security, military, and economic fields, contributing to enhancing security, stability, and peace in the region, and looking forward to the continued holding of rounds of the Egyptian-American strategic dialogue on a regular basis.
The two ministers reviewed ways to enhance economic, commercial, and investment cooperation between the two countries, with Minister Abdel Aty praising the results of the Egyptian-American Business Forum held in Cairo last May, with the participation of more than 50 American companies, including 12 companies participating for the first time in the Egyptian market, reflecting the Egyptian state's commitment to attracting investments and enhancing its economic partnerships with the United States.
The two ministers emphasized the importance of continuing coordination regarding holding a new round of meetings for the Joint Economic Commission, and organizing a new version of the Egyptian-American Business Forum in the upcoming period, which would enhance the prospects of economic partnership between the two friendly countries.
