أكد وزير الخارجية الأمير فيصل بن فرحان بن عبدالله، أن رئاسة المملكة بالشراكة مع الجمهورية الفرنسية للمؤتمر الدولي لتسوية القضية الفلسطينية بالحلول السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين، تأتي استنادًا لموقف المملكة الثابت تجاه القضية الفلسطينية واستمرارًا لجهودها في دعم الحقوق المشروعة للشعب الفلسطيني وجهود التوصل للسلام العادل والشامل بما يكفل قيام الدولة الفلسطينية على حدود العام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية.
وقال وزير الخارجية في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء السعودية «واس»: «إن المملكة بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين الملك سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، وبمتابعة حثيثة من ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز آل سعود، -حفظهما الله- تبذل كافة الجهود لإرساء السلام العادل في منطقة الشرق الأوسط، وتسعى دائمًا من منطلق مبادئها الراسخة إلى نشر السلم والأمن الدوليين من خلال المساعي الحميدة والجهود المبذولة لإنهاء معاناة الإنسان الفلسطيني، وإيقاف دائرة العنف المستمرة والصراع الفلسطيني ضد الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الذي طال أمده، وراح ضحيته عشرات الآلاف من الضحايا المدنيين الأبرياء، وأَجَّج الكراهية بين شعوب المنطقة والعالم».
وأضاف الوزير: «من هذا المنطلق جاءت رئاسة المملكة بالشراكة مع فرنسا للمؤتمر الدولي رفيع المستوى لتسوية القضية الفلسطينية بالحلول السلمية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين على المستوى الوزاري، الذي سيُقام هذا الأسبوع بمقر الأمم المتحدة في مدينة نيويورك بمشاركة دولية واسعة، متطلعين إلى الدفع باتجاه تنفيذ قرارات الشرعية الدولية التي تقضي بإقامة دولتين ينعم فيها الفلسطينيون بدولتهم المستقلة، ويحقق للمنطقة السلام والاستقرار، ويدفع بها للمضي قدما تجاه التنمية والازدهار».
وأوضح وزير الخارجية أن المؤتمر يدعم جهود التحالف الدولي لتنفيذ حل الدولتين الذي أطلقته المملكة، ومملكة النرويج، والاتحاد الأوروبي، في سبتمبر 2024، ويأتي استكمالًا لجهود اللجنة الوزارية العربية الإسلامية المشتركة الهادفة لإنهاء معاناة الإنسان الفلسطيني، وتمكينه من استعادة حقوقه المشروعة، وتحقيق سلام شامل وعادل ودائم في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah confirmed that the Kingdom's presidency, in partnership with the French Republic, of the international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful solutions and the implementation of the two-state solution, is based on the Kingdom's steadfast position regarding the Palestinian issue and a continuation of its efforts to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace that ensures the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Foreign Minister stated in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA": "The Kingdom, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and with the diligent follow-up of the Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud - may God protect them - is making every effort to establish just peace in the Middle East, and is always striving, based on its firm principles, to promote international peace and security through good offices and efforts made to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, and to stop the ongoing cycle of violence and the prolonged Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation, which has claimed the lives of tens of thousands of innocent civilian victims and fueled hatred among the peoples of the region and the world."
The minister added: "From this standpoint, the Kingdom's presidency in partnership with France of the high-level international conference to resolve the Palestinian issue through peaceful solutions and implement the two-state solution at the ministerial level, which will be held this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York with wide international participation, aims to push towards the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions that call for the establishment of two states where Palestinians enjoy their independent state, achieving peace and stability for the region, and propelling it forward towards development and prosperity."
The Foreign Minister explained that the conference supports the efforts of the international coalition to implement the two-state solution launched by the Kingdom, the Kingdom of Norway, and the European Union in September 2024, and comes as a continuation of the efforts of the joint Arab-Islamic ministerial committee aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people, enabling them to regain their legitimate rights, and achieving a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the Middle East.
