بعد ساعات من تحذيرات الترويكا الأوروبية لطهران وتهديدها بإعادة فرض عقوبات إذا لم تستأنف المحادثات وتتخذ خطوات ملموسة في حلول نهاية أغسطس، اشترط وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي اليوم (الجمعة) إبداء أمريكا استعداداً حقيقياً للتوصل لاتفاق نووي عادل.
وكتب عراقجي على حسابه في «إكس» أنه أبلغ الترويكا الأوروبية خلال الاتصال الهاتفي أن «الولايات المتحدة هي التي انسحبت من الاتفاق الذي تم التوصل إليه عام 2015 بعد مفاوضات دامت عامين بمشاركة الاتحاد الأوروبي، وليس إيران، كما أن واشنطن هي التي غادرت طاولة المفاوضات في يونيو من هذا العام، واختارت بدلاً من الحوار الخيار العسكري وليس إيران»، مضيفاً: «لن تكون ممكنة إلا إذا أبدى الطرف المقابل استعداداً حقيقياً للتوصل إلى اتفاق نووي عادل، ومتوازن، وقائم على المصالح المتبادلة».
وشدد عراقجي بالقول: «إذا كانت الدول الأوروبية الثلاث والاتحاد الأوروبي ترغب في لعب دور بناء، فعليهم أن يتصرفوا بمسؤولية ويتخلوا عن سياسة التهديد والضغوط البالية، بما في ذلك التهديد بتفعيل آلية سناب باك، التي تفتقر لأي أساس قانوني أو أخلاقي».
وكان وزراء خارجية الدول الأوروبية الثلاث ألمانيا وبريطانيا وفرنسا، إلى جانب مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية في الاتحاد الأوروبي كايا كالاس قد أجروا أمس أول اتصال هاتفي لهم مع عراقجي منذ أن شنت إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة غارات جوية في منتصف يونيو، مستهدفة البرنامج النووي الإيراني.
وقال مصدر دبلوماسي فرنسي عقب الاتصال الهاتفي إن الوزراء دعوا إيران إلى استئناف الجهود الدبلوماسية فوراً للتوصل إلى اتفاق نووي قابل للتحقق ومستدام.
في غضون ذلك، قال مسؤول إيراني إن معلومات استخباراتية تشير إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تستعد للحرب مع بلاده. ونقلت قناة «برس تي في» الإيرانية عن ما وصفته بـ«المسؤول الإيراني الكبير»، قوله: لدى إيران معلومات استخباراتية تشير إلى أن الولايات المتحدة تستخدم المبادرات الدبلوماسية كغطاء للتحضيرات العسكرية، وأنه يتعين على طهران الاستعداد للصراع بدلاً من الانخراط في المحادثات.
وأضاف: «إذا كان الأمر كذلك، فلا نرى سبباً لإضاعة الوقت، ونفضل التركيز على الاستعداد للصراع»، مشيراً إلى أن أي جولة جديدة من المفاوضات يجب أن تتضمن ضمانات جدية وعملية لضمان ألا تكون العملية مجرد غطاء لخداع أمني.
وأوضح المسؤول الإيراني أن أي مناقشات يجب أن تتناول قضايا رئيسية مثل الترسانة النووية الإسرائيلية والتعويض عن الحرب الأخيرة، لافتاً إلى أن بلاده يجب أن تحصل على ضمانات بأن المبعوث الأمريكي ستيف ويتكوف وسيط لحل النزاع، وليس مشعلاً للحرب.
Hours after the European troika's warnings to Tehran and its threat to reimpose sanctions if talks do not resume and concrete steps are taken by the end of August, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi today (Friday) conditioned America's genuine readiness to reach a fair nuclear agreement.
Araqchi wrote on his account on "X" that he informed the European troika during the phone call that "the United States is the one that withdrew from the agreement reached in 2015 after two years of negotiations involving the European Union, not Iran. Moreover, Washington is the one that left the negotiating table in June of this year, choosing military options instead of dialogue, not Iran." He added: "This will only be possible if the other party shows genuine readiness to reach a fair, balanced nuclear agreement based on mutual interests."
Araqchi emphasized by saying: "If the three European countries and the European Union wish to play a constructive role, they must act responsibly and abandon the outdated policy of threats and pressures, including the threat to activate the snapback mechanism, which lacks any legal or moral basis."
The foreign ministers of the three European countries—Germany, Britain, and France—along with the EU foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, conducted their first phone call with Araqchi yesterday since Israel and the United States launched airstrikes in mid-June targeting the Iranian nuclear program.
A French diplomatic source stated after the phone call that the ministers urged Iran to immediately resume diplomatic efforts to reach a verifiable and sustainable nuclear agreement.
Meanwhile, an Iranian official stated that intelligence information indicates that the United States is preparing for war with his country. The Iranian channel "Press TV" quoted what it described as a "senior Iranian official," saying: Iran has intelligence indicating that the United States is using diplomatic initiatives as a cover for military preparations, and that Tehran must prepare for conflict instead of engaging in talks.
He added: "If that is the case, we see no reason to waste time, and we prefer to focus on preparing for conflict," noting that any new round of negotiations should include serious and practical guarantees to ensure that the process is not merely a cover for security deception.
The Iranian official clarified that any discussions should address key issues such as the Israeli nuclear arsenal and compensation for the recent war, pointing out that his country must receive guarantees that U.S. envoy Steve Biegun is a mediator for resolving the dispute, not a spark for war.
