The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms revealed today (Tuesday) a new crime committed by the Houthis in Al-Raima Governorate, confirming that Houthi elements led by the impersonator of the Governor of Al-Raima, Fares Al-Habari, and the Houthi Fares Roba'a stormed the home of a Quran teacher in the village of Al-Bayda in the Al-Salfiyah district, after besieging him, and executed him inside his home, while his wife sustained serious injuries.
The network expressed its condemnation and denunciation in the strongest terms of the heinous crime committed by the Houthis against Hantous, who is considered one of the most prominent Quran teachers in Al-Raima today (Tuesday), noting that the Houthis launched a campaign to attack the victim's home and fired indiscriminately at it using RPG shells, which created a state of fear and panic among women and children in the area.
The network pointed out that the armed attack on Saleh Hantous's home resulted in his death and his wife's serious injuries, and the residents of the area were prevented from taking the injured woman to the hospital for treatment. It noted that this crime is part of escalating violations against civilians, including killings, displacement, and the destruction of homes, and has targeted villages and communities in various areas forcibly under their control, continuing the rooted cycle of killings that the Houthis have practiced since the coup, as part of their attempts to break the will of the Yemenis and subjugate them to their coup project and extremist ideas.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms called on the international community, the United Nations, its special envoy, and human rights organizations to issue a clear condemnation of these heinous crimes, urging the international community to take serious action to protect civilians, places of worship, and educational institutions from systematic Houthi targeting.
The Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms affirmed that this brutal crime embodies the true face of the Houthi group, which has persistently committed extrajudicial killings and executions against innocents, in blatant defiance of all international laws and humanitarian charters.
