كشف مصدر دبلوماسي سوري اليوم (السبت)، أن التعاون العسكري القائم مع المملكة العربية السعودية يتركز على التدريب وتبادل الخبرات والاستشارات العسكرية، بما يخدم المصالح الوطنية المشتركة، معلناً أن زيارات تنسيقية سعودية إلى سورية ستبدأ الشهر القادم لبحث برامج تدريب القوات العسكرية وبناء قدراتها.
وأوضح المصدر، في تصريحات لوكالة الأنباء السورية «سانا»، أن الاتفاقيات الحالية تندرج ضمن إطار التعاون العسكري بين البلدين، مشيراً إلى إمكانية تطور هذا التعاون مستقبلاً إلى اتفاقية دفاع مشترك أو انضمام سورية إلى «حلف مكة»، وفق ما تقتضيه المصالح المشتركة.
ونفى المصدر صحة الأنباء المتداولة بشأن إرسال قوات عسكرية سورية إلى اليمن في الوقت الراهن، مؤكداً أن هذا الحديث «لا أساس له من الصحة».
وأضاف أن أولويات سورية خلال المرحلة القادمة تتركز على ترسيخ الأمن الداخلي، وإعادة الإعمار، وتحقيق التعافي الاقتصادي.
A Syrian diplomatic source revealed today (Saturday) that the existing military cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia focuses on training, exchanging expertise, and military consultations, serving the common national interests. He announced that Saudi coordination visits to Syria will begin next month to discuss military training programs and building capabilities.
The source clarified, in statements to the Syrian news agency "SANA," that the current agreements fall within the framework of military cooperation between the two countries, noting the possibility of this cooperation evolving in the future into a joint defense agreement or Syria joining the "Makkah Alliance," as dictated by mutual interests.
The source denied the validity of reports circulating about sending Syrian military forces to Yemen at the present time, asserting that this talk "has no basis in fact."
He added that Syria's priorities during the upcoming phase focus on consolidating internal security, reconstruction, and achieving economic recovery.
