Israel and Iran exchanged accusations of violating the ceasefire just hours after it came into effect this morning (Tuesday). Iranian television announced that Israel carried out strikes following the announcement of the truce.

A spokesman for the Iranian military command accused Israel of launching airstrikes on sites in Iran until 9:00 AM local time.

The Israeli army reported that its defense systems detected missiles launched from Iran towards the country, two and a half hours after the ceasefire began.

However, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Abdolrahim Mousavi, denied that any missiles were fired towards Israel in recent hours.

The Iranian news agency "Tasnim" stated that "the claim of a missile launch by Israel and the psychological warfare came to create a duality between diplomacy and the field." It added: "The claim of a missile launch by Iran has been denied, but the question is why such a claim is made in these early hours after the announcement of the end of the clashes?"

For his part, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued orders to the army on Tuesday to respond to what he described as an "Iranian violation" of the ceasefire agreement, following what he said was a missile attack launched by Iran on areas in northern Israel, just hours after the truce took effect.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized that his country would respond "strongly" to the Iranian violation, adding that Tehran bears full responsibility for a new escalation that threatens stability. He said: "I directed the army to respond forcefully to Iran's violation of the ceasefire with intensive strikes against targets in the heart of Tehran."

According to a statement from the Israeli army, missile launches were detected from within Iranian territory towards several areas in northern Israel, particularly in Galilee. Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir vowed to deliver strong strikes following the serious Iranian breach of the ceasefire.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire between Israel and Iran "is now in effect," calling on both sides not to violate it.
