The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Al-Budaiwi, emphasized the necessity of resolving the disputes between Israel and Iran through peaceful means, urging the Security Council and the United Nations to take action to stop Israel's violations of international law.
Al-Budaiwi clarified in a statement to the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Qabas," following the extraordinary 48th meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council, which was held today (Monday), that the Gulf Cooperation Council is making joint efforts to settle matters and stop the war, and there are Gulf efforts at all levels to halt the conflict and communicate with all parties; because its repercussions will be severe and will affect the entire world.
He pointed out that the Gulf Ministerial Council called on the United Nations Security Council to push for the continuation of U.S.-Iranian negotiations in the Sultanate of Oman and to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and the sovereignty of states, announcing that a meeting will be held soon for senior officials from foreign ministers to discuss positions and seek to stop the war and address all developments in the region and take wise positions to resolve this war.
Al-Budaiwi noted that the extraordinary ministerial council praised the joint efforts made to evacuate the citizens of the member states and other countries stranded in Iran.
The American newspaper "The Wall Street Journal" reported that Iran is sending "urgent signals" indicating that it is seeking to "end hostilities" and resume talks regarding its nuclear program.
The mutual attacks between Israel and Iran continue for the fourth consecutive day amid significant concerns about the expansion of their risks in the region and their effects on international security and peace. Meanwhile, several countries have begun evacuating their nationals from Israel, the latest being Germany, as the spokesperson for the German Foreign Ministry stated today that his country will start evacuating its citizens from Israel via the Jordanian capital, Amman, on a chartered flight. He added: "Germans in Israel registered on the crisis alert list have been informed of this option and the details."
