أفادت تقارير صحفية، نقلاً عن الشرطة الهندية، بمقتل جميع ركاب الطائرة الهندية التي تحطمت، اليوم (الخميس)، في مدينة أحمد آباد، وعددهم 242 راكباً.
وعادت الشرطة الهندية قبل قليل لتؤكد العثور على ناجٍ وحيد، فيما لا تزال الأخبار الإعلامية متضاربة حول مصير رئيس وزراء ولاية غوجارات الهندية السابق فيجاي روباني، الذي كان اسمه ضمن ركاب الرحلة، ففي حين أشارت صحف هندية إلى أن روباني كان على متن الطائرة المنكوبة، أشارت منصات إعلامية أخرى إلى أنه استقل رحلة مختلفة.
وقالت شرطة مدينة أحمد آباد أن من غير المتوقع أن يكون أي من ركاب الطائرة التي تحطمت بعد وقت قصير من إقلاعها في رحلة إلى لندن وعلى متنها 242 شخصاً، قد نجا.
ونقلت وكالة الصحافة الفرنسية عن مفوض شرطة المدينة قوله: «يبدو أنه لا ناجين في الحادثة. وبما أن الطائرة تحطمت في منطقة سكنية تضم عدداً من المكاتب، فقد سقط المزيد من الضحايا».
وذكرت صحيفة «نيو إنديان إكسبريس»، أنه تم العثور على نحو 60 جثة في موقع تحطم طائرة غربي الهند. وأشارت الصحيفة إلى أن من بين الجثث الستين التي تم انتشالها من بين حطام الطائرة، تم العثور على 10 جثث في أرض سكن الكلية الطبية التي سقطت فيها الطائرة. وأفادت قناة (NDTV) الهندية أن ما لا يقل عن 20 طالب طب أصيبوا على الأرض عندما تحطمت الطائرة، مبينة أن عمليات البحث والإنقاذ لا تزال مستمرة حتى الآن.
Press reports, citing the Indian police, have stated that all passengers on the Indian plane that crashed today (Thursday) in Ahmedabad, numbering 242, have been killed.
The Indian police have just confirmed the discovery of a sole survivor, while media reports remain conflicting regarding the fate of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, whose name was among the passengers on the flight. While some Indian newspapers indicated that Rupani was on the ill-fated plane, other media outlets suggested that he took a different flight.
The Ahmedabad police stated that it is unlikely that any of the passengers on the plane, which crashed shortly after takeoff on a flight to London with 242 people on board, survived.
The French Press Agency quoted the city police commissioner as saying: "It seems that there are no survivors in the incident. Since the plane crashed in a residential area that includes several offices, more casualties have occurred."
The "New Indian Express" reported that around 60 bodies were found at the plane crash site in western India. The newspaper noted that among the sixty bodies recovered from the wreckage, 10 were found on the grounds of the medical college where the plane fell. Indian channel (NDTV) reported that at least 20 medical students were injured on the ground when the plane crashed, indicating that search and rescue operations are still ongoing.
