رهنت إيران موافقتها على زيارة مفتشين أمريكيين من الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية لمواقعها النووية، بنجاح المفاوضات غير المباشرة الجارية مع الولايات المتحدة في التوصل إلى اتفاق.
وقال رئيس منظمة الطاقة النووية الإيرانية محمد إسلامي: «إذا أثيرت قضايا وتم التوصل إلى اتفاق، وتم أخذ مطالب إيران في الاعتبار، فإننا سنعيد النظر في احتمال قبول مفتشين أمريكيين» من الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية.
وأعلن في تصريحات للصحفيين على هامش اجتماع الحكومة الإيرانية، اليوم (الأربعاء): إن نائب مدير الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية وصل إلى طهران، لزيارة المواقع المتبقية وفقاً للبيان الصادر في مارس 2023.
وأعرب إسلامي عن أمله أن تتصرف الوكالة بشكل مهني، ونتمكن من اتخاذ خطوة نحو تسوية ملف الموقعين المتبقيين، وهذا ما وعد به المدير العام للوكالة، رافائيل غروسي.
وطالب المدير العام للوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية راقاييل غروسي، بأن تكون عمليات تفتيش الوكالة على المواقع النووية الإيرانية جزءاً من أي اتفاق نووي بين طهران وواشنطن. وأكد أن المحادثات «لم تحسم بعد»، لكنه وصف استمرارها بأنه مؤشر جيد.
وحول اختلاف المواقف بين واشنطن وطهران بشأن التخصيب، قال: «ليس من المستحيل التوفيق بين وجهتي النظر».
من جانبه، نفى المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي، «الشائعات حول مرونة بلاده بشأن تخصيب اليورانيوم». وجدد في مؤتمر صحفي، الأربعاء، تأكيد أن استمرار التخصيب جزء لا يتجزأ من الصناعة النووية، ومبدأ أساسي لا يمكن التنازل عنه. وشدد على أن «أي اقتراح يتعارض مع هذا أو يقوض هذا الحق غير مقبول»، وفق ما نقلت وسائل إعلام محلية.
وحول موعد الجولة السادسة من المفاوضات غير المباشرة مع الولايات المتحدة، أوضح أن المشاورات حول موعد ومكان الجولة القادمة مستمرة. ولفت إلى أن سلطنة عمان «ستعلن عن الموعد فور الانتهاء من المشاورات حول تلك المسألة». واعتبر أن موضوع النقاش الوحيد المطروح على طاولة البحث بين الوفدين الإيراني والأمريكي هو القضية النووية ورفع العقوبات.
Iran has conditioned its approval for American inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to visit its nuclear sites on the success of ongoing indirect negotiations with the United States to reach an agreement.
The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stated: "If issues are raised and an agreement is reached, taking Iran's demands into account, we will reconsider the possibility of accepting American inspectors" from the IAEA.
He announced in statements to reporters on the sidelines of the Iranian government meeting today (Wednesday) that the Deputy Director of the IAEA has arrived in Tehran to visit the remaining sites according to the statement issued in March 2023.
Eslami expressed hope that the agency would act professionally, and that they could take a step towards resolving the file of the remaining sites, which is what the Director General of the agency, Rafael Grossi, promised.
The Director General of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, demanded that the agency's inspections of Iranian nuclear sites be part of any nuclear agreement between Tehran and Washington. He confirmed that the talks "are not yet finalized," but described their continuation as a good sign.
Regarding the differing positions between Washington and Tehran on enrichment, he said: "It is not impossible to reconcile the two viewpoints."
For his part, the spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, denied "the rumors about his country's flexibility regarding uranium enrichment." He reiterated in a press conference on Wednesday that the continuation of enrichment is an integral part of the nuclear industry, and a fundamental principle that cannot be compromised. He emphasized that "any proposal that contradicts this or undermines this right is unacceptable," according to local media reports.
Regarding the timing of the sixth round of indirect negotiations with the United States, he clarified that consultations about the date and location of the next round are ongoing. He noted that the Sultanate of Oman "will announce the date as soon as the consultations on that matter are completed." He considered that the only topic of discussion on the table between the Iranian and American delegations is the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions.
