بمشاركة واسعة من الدول الأعضاء في الأمم المتحدة، ترأست السعودية وفرنسا، أمس (الجمعة) في نيويورك، الاجتماع التحضيري للمؤتمر الدولي رفيع المستوى من أجل التسوية السلمية للقضية الفلسطينية وتنفيذ حل الدولتين.
ترأس وفد السعودية المستشارة في وزارة الخارجية الدكتورة منال حسن رضوان، فيما ترأس الجانب الفرنسي مستشارة الرئيس الفرنسي آن كلير لوجندر.
وقالت المستشارة منال رضوان خلال الجلسة الافتتاحية: إن السعودية بالشراكة مع فرنسا تسعى لأن يشكّل هذا المؤتمر نقطة تحوّل تاريخية نحو سلام عادل ودائم. وجددت التأكيد على ضرورة إنهاء الاحتلال وتأسيس دولة فلسطينية مستقلة وقابلة للحياة بصفته سبيلاً وحيداً لتحقيق الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة.
وأضافت أن إنهاء الحرب والإفراج عن الرهائن والمحتجزين وضمان الأمن الشامل لا يمكن تحقيقه إلا من خلال خطة سياسية موثوقة تعالج جذور الصراع، ولفتت إلى الإصلاحات التي أطلقتها القيادة الفلسطينية، مؤكدة أهمية دعم المجتمع الدولي للحكومة الفلسطينية.
وأكدت المستشارة رضوان التزام السعودية الثابت بمبادرة السلام العربية، ودورها المحوري في إطلاق «التحالف العالمي لتنفيذ حل الدولتين» بالشراكة مع الاتحاد الأوروبي والنرويج.
وشهد الاجتماع الذي حضرته وكيلة الأمين العام للشؤون السياسية وبناء السلام روزماري ديكارلو، استعراض 19 دولة ومنظمة تشارك في رئاسة مجموعات العمل الثماني المنبثقة عن المؤتمر، قُدمت خلاله إحاطات حول التقدم المحرز في إعداد المخرجات المتوقعة لكل مجموعة. وأكد المشاركون من الدول الأعضاء على دعمهم الكامل للمملكة وفرنسا، واشادوا بالجهود التي تبذلها فرق العمل، مؤكدين التزامهم بالمشاركة بمقترحات وأفكار عملية من شأنها أن تسهم في إنجاح المؤتمر الدولي المزمع عقده خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 20 يونيو 2025م.
With wide participation from member states of the United Nations, Saudi Arabia and France chaired the preparatory meeting for the high-level international conference aimed at a peaceful resolution of the Palestinian issue and the implementation of the two-state solution yesterday (Friday) in New York.
The Saudi delegation was led by the advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Manal Hassan Radwan, while the French side was chaired by the advisor to the French President, Anne-Claire Legendre.
During the opening session, Advisor Manal Radwan stated that Saudi Arabia, in partnership with France, seeks to make this conference a historic turning point towards a just and lasting peace. She reiterated the necessity of ending the occupation and establishing an independent and viable Palestinian state as the sole path to achieving security and stability in the region.
She added that ending the war, releasing hostages and detainees, and ensuring comprehensive security can only be achieved through a credible political plan that addresses the roots of the conflict. She highlighted the reforms initiated by the Palestinian leadership, emphasizing the importance of international support for the Palestinian government.
Advisor Radwan affirmed Saudi Arabia's steadfast commitment to the Arab Peace Initiative and its pivotal role in launching the "Global Coalition for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution" in partnership with the European Union and Norway.
The meeting, attended by Rosemary DiCarlo, Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, featured presentations from 19 countries and organizations participating in the leadership of the eight working groups stemming from the conference, during which updates were provided on the progress made in preparing the expected outcomes for each group. Participants from member states expressed their full support for Saudi Arabia and France, commending the efforts made by the working teams and reaffirming their commitment to contributing practical proposals and ideas that would help ensure the success of the international conference scheduled to be held from June 17 to 20, 2025.
