أعربت سورية اليوم عن ترحيبها بالقرار الصادر عن الحكومة الأمريكية القاضي برفع العقوبات التي فرضت عليها لسنوات طويلة، الذي ينص على إصدار إعفاء من العقوبات الإلزامية.
وقالت وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين السورية في بيان: إن دمشق تعتبر القرار «خطوة إيجابية في الاتجاه الصحيح للتخفيف من المعاناة الإنسانية والاقتصادية في البلاد».
وأكدت الوزارة أن «سورية تمد يدها لكل من يرغب التعاون على أساس الاحترام المتبادل وعدم التدخل في الشؤون الداخلية، وتؤمن بأن الحوار والدبلوماسية هما السبيل الأمثل لبناء علاقات متوازنة تحقق مصالح الشعوب وتعزز الأمن والاستقرار في المنطقة».
ومنحت إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أمس إعفاءات شاملة لسورية من العقوبات في خطوة أولى كبيرة صوب تحقيق تعهد الرئيس ترمب بإنهاء العقوبات المفروضة منذ نصف قرن على سورية.
Syria expressed today its welcome for the decision issued by the U.S. government to lift the sanctions that have been imposed on it for many years, which stipulates the issuance of a waiver from mandatory sanctions.
The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stated in a statement: Damascus considers the decision "a positive step in the right direction to alleviate the humanitarian and economic suffering in the country."
The ministry affirmed that "Syria extends its hand to all those who wish to cooperate on the basis of mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs, and believes that dialogue and diplomacy are the best means to build balanced relations that achieve the interests of peoples and enhance security and stability in the region."
