قدّم مندوب المملكة العربية السعودية الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة السفير الدكتور عبدالعزيز الواصل، خلال جلسة الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة، أمس، مقرراً شفويّاً باسم المملكة وفرنسا بشأن استئناف المؤتمر الدولي الرفيع المستوى حول التسوية السلمية للقضية الفلسطينية وحلّ الدولتين، حيث جرى اعتماد المقرر بالتوافق دون تصويت.
وأكد السفير الواصل، في كلمته، الالتزام المشترك بين المملكة وفرنسا بدعم سيادة القانون الدولي وتنفيذ قرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، موضحاً أن الأهداف الرئيسة من المؤتمر تتمثل في صون الشرعية الدولية، واتخاذ خطوات عملية نحو تحقيق سلام دائم في منطقة الشرق الأوسط.

The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, presented an oral resolution on behalf of the Kingdom and France during the United Nations General Assembly session yesterday regarding the resumption of the high-level international conference on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue and the two-state solution, which was adopted by consensus without a vote.
In his speech, Ambassador Al-Wasel affirmed the joint commitment between the Kingdom and France to support the rule of international law and implement relevant United Nations resolutions, clarifying that the main objectives of the conference are to uphold international legitimacy and take practical steps towards achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
