تفاعلاً مع حملة التبرع بالدم، التي أطلقها ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، شارك رئيس جامعة الإمام عبدالرحمن بن فيصل الدكتور فهد بن أحمد الحربي، إلى جانب عدد من قيادات الجامعة ومنسوبيها، في الحملة الوطنية للتبرع بالدم في مستشفى الملك فهد الجامعي بالخبر التابع للجامعة.
وأكد رئيس الجامعة أن هذه المشاركة تأتي تعزيزاً لدور الجامعة في خدمة المجتمع وتجسيداً لمعاني التكافل الإنساني والتفاعل مع المبادرات الوطنية الرائدة، مشدداً على أن التبرع بالدم يمثل أحد أهم صور العطاء المباشر لإنقاذ الأرواح وأن الجامعة تحرص على غرس ثقافة العمل التطوعي والإنساني بين منسوبيها وطلابها، وأن مثل هذه الحملات تمثل فرصة لترسيخ هذه القيم النبيلة، مبيناً أن مستشفى الملك فهد الجامعي بالخبر يمتلك خبرة واسعة في تنظيم مثل هذه المبادرات الطبية والمجتمعية، إذ إن التبرع بالدم يمثل ركيزة أساسية في دعم احتياجات بنوك الدم وتغطية العمليات الجراحية وحالات الطوارئ، مؤكداً أن المستشفى مستمر في تحفيز أفراد المجتمع لمثل هذه المبادرات على مدار العام تعزيزاً للوعي الصحي وتشجيعاً للعمل الإنساني، وتأتي هذه الخطوة امتداداً لنهج الجامعة في دعم المبادرات الوطنية والمجتمعية، وتأكيداً على مسؤوليتها الاجتماعية في خدمة الوطن والمواطن، إذ عبّر عدد من المتبرعين من منسوبي الجامعة عن فخرهم بالمشاركة في هذه الحملة المباركة التي تعكس تلاحم القيادة مع أبناء الوطن في مبادرات الخير والعطاء.
ونوه الدكتور الحربي إلى أهمية الدور المحوري الذي يقوم به بنك الدم بمستشفى الملك فهد الجامعي، إذ يُعد من أكبر بنوك الدم في المنطقة الشرقية من حيث السعة والخدمات الطبية المتقدمة التي يقدمها، ويغطي البنك احتياجات المستشفى الداخلية، إضافة إلى تزويد عدد من المستشفيات والمراكز الصحية الأخرى بوحدات الدم اللازمة لإجراء العمليات الجراحية الكبرى وحالات الطوارئ والحوادث.
وأوضح المدير التنفيذي لمستشفى الملك فهد الجامعي الدكتور عبدالله بن عبدالسلام يوسف بأن بنك الدم يعمل وفق معايير عالمية في جمع وفحص وتخزين وحدات الدم، ويملك كوادر طبية وفنية مؤهلة تضمن سلامة المتبرعين وجودة وحدات الدم، مما يجعله ركيزة أساسية في دعم المنظومة الصحية بالمنطقة. وأضاف أن البنك يسهم بشكل مباشر في تغطية احتياجات أقسام الطوارئ والعناية المركزة ووحدات الأورام وغرف العمليات الجراحية، فضلاً عن خدماته الممتدة للمجتمع من خلال التعاون مع الجهات الصحية الأخرى.
وبيّن الدكتور يوسف أن بنك الدم يستقبل سنوياً أكثر من 8 آلاف متبرع، ويقوم بتأمين ما يزيد على 18 ألف وحدة دم ومشتقاته، يتم توزيعها لدعم المستشفى والمرافق الصحية الأخرى في المنطقة الشرقية، بما يعزز جاهزية القطاع الصحي لمواجهة مختلف الحالات الطارئة. وأشار إلى أن الحملات الوطنية، مثل حملة ولي العهد للتبرع بالدم، تسهم في تعزيز المخزون الإستراتيجي لبنك الدم، وضمان الجاهزية لتلبية أي احتياجات طارئة على مدار العام، مؤكداً أن المستشفى مستمر في دعم هذه المبادرات لتعزيز الوعي الصحي ونشر ثقافة التبرع.
In response to the blood donation campaign launched by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the President of Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Dr. Fahd bin Ahmed Al-Harbi, along with several university leaders and staff, participated in the national blood donation campaign at King Fahd University Hospital in Khobar, which is affiliated with the university.
The university president emphasized that this participation reinforces the university's role in serving the community and embodies the meanings of human solidarity and engagement with pioneering national initiatives. He stressed that blood donation represents one of the most important forms of direct giving to save lives and that the university is keen to instill a culture of volunteer and humanitarian work among its staff and students. He noted that such campaigns represent an opportunity to solidify these noble values, explaining that King Fahd University Hospital in Khobar has extensive experience in organizing such medical and community initiatives. He affirmed that blood donation is a fundamental pillar in supporting the needs of blood banks and covering surgical operations and emergency cases, emphasizing that the hospital continues to motivate community members for such initiatives throughout the year to enhance health awareness and encourage humanitarian work. This step extends the university's approach to supporting national and community initiatives and reaffirms its social responsibility in serving the nation and its citizens. Several donors from the university expressed their pride in participating in this blessed campaign, which reflects the unity of leadership with the people of the nation in initiatives of goodness and giving.
Dr. Al-Harbi highlighted the crucial role played by the blood bank at King Fahd University Hospital, as it is one of the largest blood banks in the Eastern Province in terms of capacity and advanced medical services it provides. The bank covers the internal needs of the hospital, in addition to supplying several other hospitals and health centers with the necessary blood units for major surgical operations and emergency cases.
The Executive Director of King Fahd University Hospital, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdesalam Youssef, explained that the blood bank operates according to international standards in collecting, testing, and storing blood units. It has qualified medical and technical staff that ensure the safety of donors and the quality of blood units, making it a fundamental pillar in supporting the healthcare system in the region. He added that the bank directly contributes to covering the needs of emergency departments, intensive care units, oncology units, and operating rooms, in addition to its extended services to the community through cooperation with other health entities.
Dr. Youssef indicated that the blood bank receives more than 8,000 donors annually and secures over 18,000 blood units and their derivatives, which are distributed to support the hospital and other health facilities in the Eastern Province, enhancing the readiness of the health sector to face various emergency cases. He noted that national campaigns, such as the Crown Prince's blood donation campaign, contribute to enhancing the strategic stock of the blood bank and ensuring readiness to meet any emergency needs throughout the year, affirming that the hospital continues to support these initiatives to enhance health awareness and promote a culture of donation.
