The Ministry of Education emphasized the necessity for all school administrations and their staff to adhere to the procedures for dealing with high-risk student cases, particularly self-harm attempts. The ministry confirmed that anyone who becomes aware of a self-harm situation or an attempt to self-harm must report it to their workplace immediately. The school is required to follow a series of urgent procedures that focus on handling the situation calmly and seriously, providing immediate psychological support to the student, placing them in a safe location under direct observation, and not leaving them alone, while fully maintaining the confidentiality of the case. According to the ministry, the school is obligated to report immediately to the relevant authorities, depending on the nature of the case, by contacting the security authorities at "911," the Domestic Violence Protection Center at "1919," or the Ministry of Health at "937," while simultaneously notifying the student's family and requesting their presence to provide necessary support. The instructions issued by the Ministry of Education revealed the need to hold an emergency meeting of the student guidance committee at the school, with the participation of the health advisor and the safety and security coordinator, to study the case and develop a comprehensive treatment and preventive plan. The plan includes activating specialized psychological support services, such as the psychological clinic at the Virtual Health Hospital, and implementing awareness programs for the school and parents regarding risk indicators and early intervention. Among the procedures is documenting the report in the approved technical systems such as the Noor system, regularly monitoring the case to evaluate the effectiveness of the measures taken, and preparing a detailed report to be submitted to the education administration, which will coordinate with the relevant authorities.
