رحّبت رابطةُ العالم الإسلامي بإعلان رئيس الجمهورية الفرنسية إيمانويل ماكرون عزم بلاده الاعتراف بدولة فلسطين الشقيقة.
ونوّه الأمين العام للرابطة، رئيس هيئة علماء المسلمين الشيخ الدكتور محمد بن عبدالكريم العيسى، بالقرار المهمّ للرئيس الفرنسي، الذي يُعدّ خطوةً في الاتجاه الصحيح نحو الموقف الشرعيّ والمسؤول مع الحقّ التاريخيّ والقانونيّ للشعب الفلسطيني، والسبيل الوحيد لتحقيق السلام الشامل العادل والدائم في المنطقة، داعيًا بقيّة الدول إلى أن تحذو حذو الجمهورية الفرنسية، دعمًا للحق والعدالة، وانتصارًا للشرعية الدولية.
كما جدّد مطالبة المجتمع الدولي بالاضطلاع بمسؤولياته تجاه الوقف الفوريّ للحرب الوحشية على المدنيين في قطاع غزّة، ودعمِ حق الشعب الفلسطيني في إقامة دولته المستقلة على حدود عام 1967، وعاصمتها القُدس الشرقية، وفقًا لمبادرة السلام العربية، والقرارات الدولية ذات الصلة.
The Muslim World League welcomed the announcement by French President Emmanuel Macron regarding his country's intention to recognize the sister State of Palestine.
The Secretary-General of the League, Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, praised the important decision by the French president, which is considered a step in the right direction towards a legitimate and responsible stance with the historical and legal rights of the Palestinian people, and the only way to achieve comprehensive, just, and lasting peace in the region. He called on other countries to follow the example of the French Republic, in support of rights and justice, and in defense of international legitimacy.
He also renewed his call for the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding the immediate cessation of the brutal war against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and to support the right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state on the borders of 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and relevant international resolutions.
