زار وزير السياحة أحمد الخطيب محافظة الطائف، في مستهل جولاته الميدانية في وجهات برنامج «صيف السعودية 2025»، الذي انطلق أخيراً تحت شعار «لوّن صيفك». وشملت الزيارة جولة على عدد من المعالم السياحية في الطائف، لمتابعة وتقييم كل ما يتعلق بتجربة السائح، والوقوف على الإمكانات المتوفرة للزوار، إلى جانب الإشراف على جودة الخدمات المقدمة.
وعبَّر الوزير الخطيب، عن سعادته بزيارة محافظة الطائف، والتجول في مرافقها السياحية، مشيداً بما تحظى به من طبيعة ساحرة واعتدال مناخي يؤهلها لأن تصبح من أبرز الوجهات السياحية في المملكة والمنطقة، وثمَّن جهود العاملين بالقطاع السياحي في تقديم خدمات متميزة تعكس الصورة الإيجابية للسياحة في المملكة.
وأكد أن الكوادر الوطنية تمثل الركيزة الأساسية في تطوير القطاع، مشيراً إلى توفير برامج التدريب والتمكين لرفع كفاءة العاملين وتعزيز فرص التوظيف في مختلف المسارات السياحية.
وكشفت بيانات القطاع السياحي في الطائف، أن عدد السياح المحليين والدوليين الذين زاروا المدينة خلال العام 2024 تجاوز 3.6 مليون سائح، بزيادة 9% مقارنة بالعام 2023، وسجلت إجمالي إنفاق سياحي سنوي بقيمة 3.4 مليار ريال، فيما وصل عدد التراخيص الصادرة للمنشآت السياحية إلى 266 ترخيصاً، وبلغ عدد الغرف الفندقية 10,220 غرفة مع نهاية يونيو 2025.

The Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, visited the Taif Governorate, at the beginning of his field tours in the destinations of the "Summer of Saudi Arabia 2025" program, which recently launched under the slogan "Color Your Summer." The visit included a tour of several tourist attractions in Taif to monitor and evaluate everything related to the tourist experience, as well as to assess the available facilities for visitors, in addition to supervising the quality of the services provided.
Minister Al-Khateeb expressed his happiness with the visit to Taif Governorate and touring its tourist facilities, praising its enchanting nature and moderate climate, which qualify it to become one of the prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom and the region. He appreciated the efforts of those working in the tourism sector in providing distinguished services that reflect the positive image of tourism in the Kingdom.
He confirmed that national cadres represent the fundamental pillar in developing the sector, pointing out the provision of training and empowerment programs to enhance the efficiency of workers and boost employment opportunities in various tourism pathways.
Data from the tourism sector in Taif revealed that the number of local and international tourists who visited the city during the year 2024 exceeded 3.6 million tourists, an increase of 9% compared to 2023. The total annual tourism spending reached 3.4 billion riyals, while the number of licenses issued for tourism establishments reached 266 licenses, and the number of hotel rooms reached 10,220 rooms by the end of June 2025.
