بهدف تعزيز السلامة المرورية، وتيسير حصول المواطنين والمقيمين على خدمات الفحص الفني بكل يسر وكفاءة، أعلنت الهيئة السعودية للمواصفات والمقاييس والجودة التوسع في منظومة الفحص الفني الدوري للمركبات، ليصل إجمالي عدد المواقع المشغّلة إلى 44 موقعاً ثابتاً، في الوقت الذي كان يصل فيه عدد المراكز قبل انتقال التنظيم إلى مركز سلامة المركبات إلى 29 موقعاً فقط، إضافة إلى تشغيل 14 معدة فحص متنقلة من أصل 16 معدة معتمدة، وأثمر تكامل الجهود مع مختلف الجهات المعنية في زيادة عدد المركبات التي فُحصت من 2,900,000 مركبة في 2019م، إلى 5,800,000 مركبة في 2024م.
In order to enhance traffic safety and facilitate citizens and residents' access to technical inspection services with ease and efficiency, the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization announced the expansion of the periodic technical inspection system for vehicles, bringing the total number of operational sites to 44 fixed locations. This is in contrast to the 29 centers that were operational before the organization was transferred to the Vehicle Safety Center. Additionally, 14 mobile inspection units out of a total of 16 approved units are now in operation. The integration of efforts with various relevant entities has resulted in an increase in the number of vehicles inspected from 2,900,000 vehicles in 2019 to 5,800,000 vehicles in 2024.
