In order to improve the level of quality and safety, and to enhance the quality of life and achieve the highest levels of safety and efficiency in the road network, the General Authority for Roads has established standards to determine the thickness of road paving, based on the type of road (highway, arterial, collector, local) and the expected traffic volume, along with precise soil tests to ensure its ability to withstand loads without cracking or subsiding, in addition to considering various climatic effects (heat, cold, rain) to ensure its resistance to cracking, expansion, and contraction.
