A specialized medical team at the Specialized Heart Center in King Abdullah Medical Complex, one of the components of the Second Jeddah Health Cluster, successfully saved the life of an 18-year-old girl after she experienced repeated fainting spells and serious heart electrical disturbances that required advanced and urgent medical intervention.
Specialized medical examinations and evaluations revealed a severe dysfunction in the heart muscle, which led to an electrical conduction disorder characterized by a sharp slowdown in heartbeats accompanied by repeated episodes of cardiac arrest.
After a comprehensive study of the case and suspicion of her having sarcoidosis - a rare and difficult-to-diagnose disease - the medical team was able to manage the condition through medication and then the implantation of a cardiac resynchronization device equipped with a defibrillator (CRT-D), in a medical intervention that contributed to stabilizing the patient's health condition and reducing the risks of life-threatening heart disturbances.
This medical achievement has been recorded as scientific research with the American College of Cardiology, reflecting the level of specialization and medical competence, and embodying the commitment of the Specialized Heart Center in King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah to integrated medical and specialized care, continuing the efforts of the Second Jeddah Health Cluster in providing specialized healthcare according to a value-based healthcare model that focuses on achieving the best health outcomes for patients and the community, and enhancing the quality and efficiency of services.
