أعربت وزارة الخارجية، عن إدانة المملكة العربية السعودية قيام الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية باستهداف الناقلة السعودية (سدر)، خلال عبورها مضيق هرمز، وما نتج عنه من وفيات لطاقم الناقلة.
وقالت الوزارة، في بيان: «كما تدين المملكة الاعتداءات الإيرانية التي استهدفت المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، ومملكة البحرين، ودولة الكويت، وتؤكد وقوفها وتضامنها الكامل مع الدول الشقيقة في ما تتخذه من إجراءات لضمان حماية أمنها وسيادتها من أي تهديد».
وأضافت: «المملكة تؤكد ضرورة وقف التصعيد واحترام أمن الملاحة الدولية وسلامتها، وأمن إمدادات الطاقة العالمية، ومبادئ حسن الجوار، وسيادة الدول وميثاق الأمم المتحدة، والقانون والأعراف الدولية». وتابعت: «المملكة تدعو جميع الأطراف للتهدئة ووقف التصعيد واحترام القانون الدولي والعودة للمفاوضات والحلول السلمية».
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the Islamic Republic of Iran's targeting of the Saudi tanker (Sadr) while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in fatalities among the crew of the tanker.
The ministry stated in a statement: "The Kingdom also condemns the Iranian attacks that targeted the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait, and reaffirms its full support and solidarity with the brotherly countries in the measures they take to ensure the protection of their security and sovereignty from any threat."
It added: "The Kingdom emphasizes the necessity of halting escalation and respecting the security and safety of international navigation, the security of global energy supplies, the principles of good neighborliness, the sovereignty of states, the United Nations Charter, and international law and norms." It continued: "The Kingdom calls on all parties to de-escalate, halt escalation, respect international law, and return to negotiations and peaceful solutions."
