اختتم التحالف الإسلامي العسكري لمحاربة الإرهاب في العاصمة الصومالية مقديشو أعمال برنامج «إعلاميو السلام»، الذي استهدف تعزيز قدرات الإعلاميين والصحفيين في مواجهة الخطاب المتطرف وخطاب الكراهية والتضليل والدعاية الإرهابية، بحضور وزير الإعلام والثقافة والسياحة الصومالي عبدالفتاح قاسم محمود.
وركز البرنامج على تطوير مهارات المشاركين في التعامل مع المحتوى المتطرف والمعلومات المضللة، وتعزيز الممارسات الإعلامية القائمة على الدقة والمصداقية والمسؤولية، بما يدعم نشر قيم الاعتدال والتسامح والتعايش والسلام.
وأكد الوزير الصومالي أن البرنامج يمثل خطوة عملية لإعداد كوادر إعلامية أكثر قدرة على مواجهة التحديات المرتبطة بالإرهاب والتطرف، مشيرًا إلى أن مكافحة الإرهاب تشمل التصدي للأفكار المتطرفة والدعاية التي تستغل وسائل الإعلام والمنصات الرقمية لاستقطاب الشباب ونشر التضليل.
وثمّن دعم المملكة المتواصل لجهود مكافحة الإرهاب والتطرف، مشيدًا بدور التحالف في تعزيز الشراكة مع الصومال وبناء القدرات الإعلامية الوطنية، مؤكدًا حرص بلاده على مواصلة التعاون ودعم المبادرات التي تسهم في تعزيز الأمن والسلام والاستقرار.
The Islamic Military Alliance to Combat Terrorism concluded the "Peace Journalists" program in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, which aimed to enhance the capabilities of journalists and media professionals in confronting extremist discourse, hate speech, misinformation, and terrorist propaganda, in the presence of the Somali Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Abdirahman Qasim Mahmoud.
The program focused on developing participants' skills in dealing with extremist content and misleading information, and promoting media practices based on accuracy, credibility, and responsibility, which supports the dissemination of values of moderation, tolerance, coexistence, and peace.
The Somali minister emphasized that the program represents a practical step towards preparing media personnel who are more capable of facing the challenges associated with terrorism and extremism, pointing out that combating terrorism includes addressing extremist ideas and propaganda that exploit media and digital platforms to recruit youth and spread misinformation.
He praised the Kingdom's ongoing support for efforts to combat terrorism and extremism, commending the alliance's role in enhancing partnership with Somalia and building national media capacities, affirming his country's commitment to continue cooperation and support initiatives that contribute to enhancing security, peace, and stability.
