حقق المنتخب السعودي للفيزياء 5 جوائز دولية في النسخة الـ(26) من أولمبياد الفيزياء الآسيوي (APhO 2026)، الذي أقيم في مدينة بوسان بجمهورية كوريا، خلال الفترة من 17 إلى 25 مايو الجاري، بمشاركة 209 طلاب وطالبات يمثلون 27 دولة.
وفاز الطلاب، حسين حبيب الصالح من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمنطقة الرياض، ورضا سالم الخميس من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمحافظة الأحساء، ومحمد عبدالرحمن العرفج من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بالمنطقة الشرقية، ومحمد محمود الرمل من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بالمنطقة الشرقية، وناصر هشام الشائع من الإدارة العامة للتعليم بمنطقة الرياض، بخمس شهادات تقدير.
وارتفع رصيد المملكة بهذا الفوز في أولمبياد الفيزياء الآسيوي إلى (27) جائزة دولية موزعة على (6) ميداليات برونزية، و(21) شهادة تقدير، منذ بدء مشاركاتها في الأولمبياد عام 2012، ممثلة بمؤسسة الملك عبدالعزيز ورجاله للموهبة والإبداع (موهبة)، وبشراكة إستراتيجية مع وزارة التعليم.
ومر الطلاب برحلة تأهيل علمية طويلة ضمن برنامج موهبة للأولمبيادات الدولية، وشملت مراحل متعددة من التدريب النظري والعملي، ومعسكرات تأهيلية داخلية وخارجية، واختبارات ترشيح متتابعة، بهدف رفع جاهزيتهم للمنافسة الدولية في تخصص الفيزياء، وتمكينهم من تمثيل المملكة بصورة مشرفة في المحافل العلمية العالمية.
ويُعد أولمبياد الفيزياء الآسيوي الذي انطلقت نسخته الأولى عام 1999 في دولة إندونيسيا، مسابقة علمية دولية سنوية لطلبة التعليم العام الموهوبين في الفيزياء، ويمثل منصة إقليمية لاكتشاف القدرات العلمية المتميزة، وتعزيز التبادل المعرفي بين الطلبة، إذ يتنافس المشاركون عبر اختبارات نظرية وعملية متقدمة تقيس مهارات التفكير العلمي والتحليل وحل المشكلات.
يُذكر أن «موهبة» مؤسسة رائدة عالميًا في مجال اكتشاف ورعاية وتمكين الموهوبين، حيث تعمل على تبني إستراتيجية وطنية لاكتشاف الموهبة وتنميتها في المجالات العلمية ذات الأولوية الوطنية، بما يسهم في بناء مجتمع معرفي وتعزيز ثقافة الابتكار.
The Saudi Physics Team achieved 5 international awards at the 26th edition of the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO 2026), which took place in Busan, South Korea, from May 17 to 25, with the participation of 209 students representing 27 countries.
The students, Hussein Habib Al-Saleh from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh, Reda Salem Al-Khamis from the General Administration of Education in Al-Ahsa, Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Oufaj from the General Administration of Education in the Eastern Province, Mohammed Mahmoud Al-Raml from the General Administration of Education in the Eastern Province, and Nasser Hisham Al-Shaya from the General Administration of Education in Riyadh, won five certificates of appreciation.
This victory raised the Kingdom's total in the Asian Physics Olympiad to 27 international awards, distributed among 6 bronze medals and 21 certificates of appreciation, since it began participating in the Olympiad in 2012, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), in strategic partnership with the Ministry of Education.
The students underwent a long scientific qualification journey as part of the Mawhiba program for international Olympiads, which included multiple stages of theoretical and practical training, internal and external qualifying camps, and successive nomination tests, aimed at enhancing their readiness for international competition in the field of physics and enabling them to represent the Kingdom honorably at global scientific forums.
The Asian Physics Olympiad, which launched its first edition in 1999 in Indonesia, is an annual international scientific competition for gifted students in physics from general education. It serves as a regional platform for discovering outstanding scientific talents and promoting knowledge exchange among students, as participants compete through advanced theoretical and practical tests that assess scientific thinking, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
It is worth noting that "Mawhiba" is a globally leading foundation in the field of discovering, nurturing, and empowering gifted individuals, as it works to adopt a national strategy for identifying and developing talent in priority scientific fields, contributing to building a knowledge-based society and enhancing a culture of innovation.
