أعلن الجيش الإسرائيلي مقتل قائد خلية في قوات النخبة التابعة للجناح العسكري لحركة حماس، قال إنه شارك في الهجوم على كيبوتس نيريم خلال هجمات السابع من أكتوبر 2023، في غارة جوية استهدفت جنوب قطاع غزة.
وقال المتحدث باسم الجيش الإسرائيلي إن الغارة أسفرت عن مقتل محمد عماد عبدالرحمن أبو طعيمة، الذي وصفه بأنه قائد خلية نخبة في كتائب القسام، مضيفاً أنه كان من بين المشاركين في اقتحام كيبوتس نيريم خلال هجمات السابع من أكتوبر.
وبحسب بيان الجيش، فإن أبو طعيمة قاد خلال الحرب خلية نفذت عمليات وكمائن ضد القوات الإسرائيلية العاملة في قطاع غزة، وعمل في الفترة الأخيرة على الحفاظ على جاهزية عناصر الحركة، إلى جانب تجنيد مقاتلين جدد والتخطيط لعمليات إضافية.
وأضاف أن القيادي المستهدف كان يمثل «تهديداً فورياً» للقوات الإسرائيلية المنتشرة في جنوب القطاع، مشيراً إلى أنه قُتل فيما وصفها بـ«غارة جوية دقيقة».
وأكد الجيش أن قواته ستواصل عملياتها في قطاع غزة لإزالة أي تهديد فوري، بالتزامن مع استمرار العمليات العسكرية في جنوب القطاع.
ولم يصدر تعليق فوري من حركة حماس بشأن الإعلان الإسرائيلي أو هوية القيادي الذي قال الجيش إنه قتله، كما تعذر التحقق بشكل مستقل من تفاصيل الرواية الإسرائيلية.
The Israeli army announced the killing of a cell leader in the elite forces of the military wing of Hamas, stating that he participated in the attack on Kibbutz Nirim during the attacks on October 7, 2023, in an airstrike targeting southern Gaza.
The spokesperson for the Israeli army said that the airstrike resulted in the death of Muhammad Imad Abdulrahman Abu Taima, whom he described as a cell leader in the Al-Qassam Brigades, adding that he was among those involved in the incursion into Kibbutz Nirim during the attacks on October 7.
According to the army's statement, Abu Taima led a cell during the war that carried out operations and ambushes against Israeli forces operating in Gaza, and recently worked on maintaining the readiness of the movement's elements, in addition to recruiting new fighters and planning for additional operations.
He added that the targeted leader represented an "immediate threat" to the Israeli forces deployed in the southern sector, noting that he was killed in what was described as a "precise airstrike."
The army confirmed that its forces would continue their operations in Gaza to eliminate any immediate threat, coinciding with the ongoing military operations in the southern sector.
No immediate comment was issued by Hamas regarding the Israeli announcement or the identity of the leader whom the army claimed to have killed, and it was not possible to independently verify the details of the Israeli narrative.
