حكمت محكمة الاستئناف الفرنسية على زعيمة أقصى اليمين المتطرف مارين لوبان، بالسجن ثلاث سنوات، منها سنتان مع وقف التنفيذ، وسنة واحدة تقضيها في المنزل مع سوار إلكتروني.
وحظرت المحكمة، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، ترشحها للانتخابات لمدة 45 شهرا، منها 30 شهرا مع وقف التنفيذ، وتغريمها بمبلغ 100 ألف يورو.
ويعني الحكم أن لوبان يمكنها من حيث المبدأ الترشح لانتخابات الرئاسة في 2027، ولكن السوار قد يشكل عائقاً. وأدان القضاة مارين لوبان بتهمة إساءة استخدام الأموال العامة.
قبل قرار محكمة الاستئناف، أشارت مارين لوبان مراراً إلى أنها لا ترغب في خوض حملة انتخابية تحت سوار إلكتروني.
وطعنت لوبان (57 عاماً) في حكم صدر في مارس 2025 أدانها مع أعضاء من حزب التجمع الوطني بإساءة استخدام أموال البرلمان الأوروبي، بعدما اعتبرت المحكمة أنهم استخدموا مخصصات مالية مخصصة لمساعدين برلمانيين في تمويل موظفين بالحزب بين عامي 2004 و2016.
وسبق أن قضت المحكمة الابتدائية بسجن لوبان مع وقف تنفيذ العقوبة إلى حين البت في الاستئناف، ومنعها من تولي أي منصب منتخب لمدة خمس سنوات، وهو ما حال دون ترشحها للرئاسة، قبل تقليص محكمة الاستئناف للمدة.
وتنفي لوبان ارتكاب أي مخالفات، ولا تزال تأمل في خوض الانتخابات الرئاسية للمرة الرابعة.
ومع اقتصار الحظر على 15 شهراً، فسوف تنتهي مدته قبل الجولة الأولى من الانتخابات الرئاسية الفرنسية المقررة في أبريل 2027. إلا أن هذا لا يعني بالضرورة أن لوبان ستخوض الانتخابات، إذ قالت إنها قد تعزف عن الترشح إذا فرضت المحكمة قيوداً أخرى تجعل إدارة حملتها الانتخابية أمراً صعباً، مثل عقوبة بالسجن أو وضعها تحت المراقبة الإلكترونية أو أي قيود قضائية أخرى.
وكانت لوبان قالت في مقابلة الأسبوع الماضي: إذا سُمح لي بالترشح، لكن مُنعت عملياً من إدارة حملتي بحرية، فأنتم تدركون أن ذلك لن يكون ممكناً.
وطالب الادعاء العام محكمة الاستئناف بالحكم على لوبان بالسجن 4 سنوات، منها 3 سنوات مع وقف التنفيذ، إضافة إلى منعها من تولي أي منصب منتخب لمدة خمس سنوات.
The French Court of Appeal sentenced far-right leader Marine Le Pen to three years in prison, two of which are suspended, and one year to be served at home with an electronic bracelet.
The court today (Tuesday) banned her from running for office for 45 months, 30 of which are suspended, and fined her 100,000 euros.
This ruling means that Le Pen can, in principle, run for the presidency in 2027, but the bracelet may pose an obstacle. The judges convicted Marine Le Pen of misusing public funds.
Before the Court of Appeal's decision, Marine Le Pen repeatedly indicated that she did not wish to campaign under an electronic bracelet.
Le Pen (57 years old) appealed a ruling issued in March 2025 that convicted her and members of the National Rally party of misusing European Parliament funds, after the court found that they had used allowances meant for parliamentary assistants to finance party staff between 2004 and 2016.
The lower court had previously sentenced Le Pen to a suspended prison sentence pending the appeal, and barred her from holding any elected office for five years, which prevented her from running for president, before the Court of Appeal reduced the duration.
Le Pen denies any wrongdoing and still hopes to run for the presidency for the fourth time.
With the ban limited to 15 months, it will expire before the first round of the French presidential elections scheduled for April 2027. However, this does not necessarily mean that Le Pen will run, as she stated that she might refrain from candidacy if the court imposes further restrictions that make managing her campaign difficult, such as a prison sentence or placing her under electronic surveillance or any other judicial restrictions.
Le Pen said in an interview last week: If I am allowed to run but practically prevented from managing my campaign freely, you understand that this will not be possible.
The public prosecutor's office requested the Court of Appeal to sentence Le Pen to four years in prison, three of which are suspended, in addition to barring her from holding any elected office for five years.
