أعلنت مجموعة stc، الممكن الرقمي الرائد في المملكة العربية السعودية، عن توقيعها اتفاقية لتنفيذ مشروع Silklink في الجمهورية العربية السورية، ويأتي توقيع هذه الاتفاقية عقب فوز المجموعة بتنفيذ المشروع بعد مشاركة شركات اتصالات إقليمية أخرى ضمن إطار تنافسي.
هذا ويقدر الاستثمار بمشروع Slinklink بمبلغ يتجاوز 3 مليارات ريال سعودي، ويهدف إلى تعزيز البنية التحتية لقطاع الاتصالات وربط سوريا إقليمياً ودولياً عبر شبكة ألياف ضوئية تمتد لأكثر من 4,500 كيلومتر، وبالإضافة إلى إنشاء مراكز بيانات ومحطات كوابل بحرية دولية. كما يوفر المشروع سعات عالية لنقل البيانات ومستويات الاعتمادية، مما يمكّن مشغلي الاتصالات في سوريا والمنطقة من تقديم خدمات اتصالات متقدمة ودعم التطبيقات الرقمية والخدمات السحابية وإنترنت الأشياء، وتحسين جودة الإنترنت ورفع كفاءة البنية التحتية الرقمية داخل سوريا.
الجدير بالذكر أن مشروع Silklink يأتي امتداداً لاستراتيجية مجموعة stc بالتوسع في استثمارات البنية التحتية الرقمية العابرة للحدود، وبناء منظومة ربط إقليمي تصل بين الأسواق العربية والآسيوية والأوروبية، بما يعزز مكانة المجموعة كممكن رقمي رائد في المنطقة ويدعم خططها للنمو المستدام في قطاع الاتصالات والخدمات الرقمية.
STC Group, the leading digital enabler in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, announced the signing of an agreement to implement the Silklink project in the Syrian Arab Republic. This agreement comes after the group won the project following a competitive participation with other regional telecom companies.
The investment in the Silklink project is estimated to exceed 3 billion Saudi Riyals, aiming to enhance the telecommunications infrastructure and connect Syria regionally and internationally through a fiber optic network extending over 4,500 kilometers. In addition to establishing data centers and international submarine cable stations, the project provides high capacities for data transmission and levels of reliability, enabling telecom operators in Syria and the region to offer advanced communication services and support digital applications, cloud services, and the Internet of Things, while improving internet quality and enhancing the efficiency of the digital infrastructure within Syria.
It is worth mentioning that the Silklink project is an extension of STC Group's strategy to expand investments in cross-border digital infrastructure and build a regional connectivity system linking Arab, Asian, and European markets, thereby enhancing the group's position as a leading digital enabler in the region and supporting its plans for sustainable growth in the telecommunications and digital services sector.
