توصّلت باكستان إلى اتفاق مبدئي مع صندوق النقد الدولي للحصول على قروض بقيمة 1.2 مليار دولار ضمن برنامجين منفصلين.
وأوضحت مصادر حكومية في إسلام آباد اليوم، أنه بحسب الاتفاق، فستحصل باكستان على دفعة بقيمة مليار دولار ضمن برنامج «تسهيل الصندوق الممدد»، و200 مليون دولار ضمن برنامج «تسهيل المرونة والاستدامة» الذي يدعم أجندتها للتعامل مع ظاهرة تغير المناخ.
اتفاق مبدئي
ويأتي الاتفاق الأولي في أعقاب استمرار المحادثات بين باكستان وصندوق النقد الدولي بعد زيارة بعثة من الصندوق، بقيادة «إيفا بيتروفا» إلى كراتشي وإسلام آباد في الفترة من 24 سبتمبر الماضي إلى 8 أكتوبر الجاري لتقييم برامج القروض.
من جانبه، ذكر الصندوق في بيان أن الاتفاق المبدئي ينتظر موافقة المجلس التنفيذي للصندوق حتى يتم صرف المبلغ المذكور لباكستان.
Pakistan has reached a preliminary agreement with the International Monetary Fund to obtain loans worth $1.2 billion under two separate programs.
Government sources in Islamabad clarified today that, according to the agreement, Pakistan will receive a payment of $1 billion under the "Extended Fund Facility" program, and $200 million under the "Flexibility and Sustainability Facility" program, which supports its agenda to address the phenomenon of climate change.
Preliminary Agreement
The initial agreement comes following ongoing talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund after a mission from the Fund, led by "Eva Petrova," visited Karachi and Islamabad from September 24 to October 8 to assess the loan programs.
For its part, the Fund stated in a statement that the preliminary agreement awaits approval from the Fund's executive board before the mentioned amount can be disbursed to Pakistan.
