China condemned U.S. President Donald Trump's decisions regarding the increase of tariffs on several countries, describing them as a form of unjustified trade protectionism.

The spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, "Zhao Lijian," confirmed during a press conference today (Friday) that Trump's decisions represent an abuse of customs tools, harming the global economy and exacerbating trade tensions.

He added, as reported by the French news agency: China's position against the abuse of tariffs is clear and consistent, as there are no winners in trade wars, and they harm all parties involved.

Trump signed an executive order this morning imposing new tariffs on about 70 countries, including Canada, which has been subjected to a 35% tariff by Washington.
