استقرت أسعار الواردات الأمريكية الشهر الماضي، إذ عوض ارتفاع أسعار الواردات غير النفطية انخفاض أسعار واردات الوقود في شهر مايو.
وأفاد مكتب إحصاءات العمل الأمريكي أمس (الثلاثاء)، أن أسعار الواردات لم تتغير في شهر مايو، بعد زيادة بنسبة 0.1% في شهر أبريل، وخلافاً للتوقعات بتراجعها 0.2% على أساس شهري، لكن المؤشر يعد مرتفعاً بنسبة 0.2% على أساس سنوي.
وهبطت أسعار استيراد الوقود «النفط والغاز» في شهر مايو بنسبة 4% على أساس شهري، بعد انخفاضها بنسبة 2.6% في أبريل، و3.4% في شهر مارس، وهو أعمق انخفاض شهري منذ انخفاض المؤشر بنسبة 7.2% في سبتمبر 2024.
وانخفضت أسعار الوقود المستورد بنسبة 15.7% خلال الـ12 شهراً الماضية، وهي أعمق وتيرة انخفاض سنوية منذ أن تراجع المؤشر بنسبة 17.9% خلال العام المنتهي في شهر سبتمبر 2024.
وفي شهر مايو، ارتفعت أسعار الواردات غير النفطية بنسبة 0.3% على أساس شهري، بعد زيادة قدرها 0.4% في شهر أبريل، ليرتفع المؤشر بنسبة 1.7% خلال الـ12 شهراً الماضية.
وفي نفس السياق، انخفضت أسعار الصادرات الأمريكية بنسبة 0.9% في شهر مايو، بعد ارتفاعها بنسبة 0.1% في شهر أبريل.

U.S. import prices stabilized last month, as the rise in non-petroleum import prices offset the decline in fuel import prices in May.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported yesterday (Tuesday) that import prices did not change in May, following a 0.1% increase in April, contrary to expectations of a 0.2% monthly decline; however, the index is up 0.2% year-over-year.
Fuel import prices (oil and gas) fell by 4% month-over-month in May, after a 2.6% decrease in April and a 3.4% drop in March, marking the deepest monthly decline since the index fell by 7.2% in September 2024.
Imported fuel prices decreased by 15.7% over the past 12 months, the steepest annual decline since the index dropped by 17.9% in the year ending September 2024.
In May, non-petroleum import prices rose by 0.3% month-over-month, following a 0.4% increase in April, bringing the index up by 1.7% over the past 12 months.
