أعلنت وزارة الخارجية الصينية أن نائب رئيس الوزراء الصيني هي ليفينغ سيلتقي في المملكة المتحدة غدا (الإثنين) وفداً أمريكياً لإجراء مناقشات حول التجارة.
وسيتواجد هي ليفينغ بالمملكة المتحدة في الفترة من 8 – 13 يونيو، بدعوة من الحكومة البريطانية، وفق الخارجية الصينية.
وسيشارك هي في الاجتماع مع مسؤولين أمريكيين للتشاور الاقتصادي والتجاري بين الصين والولايات المتحدة.
وأعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، يوم (الجمعة) الماضي، أن مناقشات صينية أمريكية جديدة ستجرى الاثنين في لندن لمحاولة التوصل إلى «اتفاق» بين واشنطن وبكين.
وسيتألف الوفد الأمريكي من وزير الخزانة سكوت بيسن، ووزير التجارة هاورد لوتنيك، والممثل التجاري جايميسون غرير، وفق ما أعلن ترمب في منشور على منصته «تروث سوشيال»، وتابع: «ينبغي أن يجري هذا الاجتماع على نحو جيد جداً».
وستكون جولة المناقشات هي الثانية بين ممثلي بكين وواشنطن منذ بداية فترة رئاسة ترمب الحالية.
وكانت الجولة الأولى عقدت في جنيف في منتصف شهر مايو الماضي، وأتاحت تعليق نزاع تجاري بين أكبر قوتين اقتصاديتين في العالم أفضى إلى فرض رسوم جمركية متبادلة بنسب تخطّت 100%.
إلا أن ترمب اتّهم الصين لاحقاً بعدم الالتزام ببنود اتفاق احتواء التصعيد.
وجرت محادثات هاتفية بين الرئيسين الأمريكي والصيني شي جينبينغ للمرة الأولى يوم (الخميس) الماضي، منذ بدأت التوترات التجارية، وأكد الرئيس الأمريكي أن المحادثة أفضت إلى «خلاصة إيجابية للغاية».
وشدّد الرئيس الصيني على ضرورة تصحيح مسار العلاقات الثنائية، وفقا لوكالة الأنباء الصينية الرسمية «شينخوا».
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will meet with an American delegation in the United Kingdom tomorrow (Monday) to discuss trade.
He Lifeng will be in the United Kingdom from June 8 to 13, at the invitation of the British government, according to the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
He will participate in a meeting with American officials for economic and trade consultations between China and the United States.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced last (Friday) that new Chinese-American discussions will take place on Monday in London in an attempt to reach an "agreement" between Washington and Beijing.
The American delegation will consist of Treasury Secretary Scott Pruitt, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, as Trump announced in a post on his platform "Truth Social," adding, "This meeting should go very well."
This round of discussions will be the second between representatives of Beijing and Washington since the beginning of Trump's current presidency.
The first round was held in Geneva in mid-May and allowed for the suspension of a trade dispute between the two largest economic powers in the world, which had led to mutual tariffs exceeding 100%.
However, Trump later accused China of not adhering to the terms of the de-escalation agreement.
There were phone talks between U.S. President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping for the first time last (Thursday) since trade tensions began, and the U.S. president confirmed that the conversation led to a "very positive outcome."
The Chinese president emphasized the need to correct the course of bilateral relations, according to the official Chinese news agency "Xinhua."
