دعا الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مجلس الشيوخ لسرعة إقرار قانون الموازنة وإرساله إلى مكتبه في أقرب وقت، مشيرا إلى أن مشروع الموازنة يتضمن تخفيضات ضريبية هائلة.
وأضاف ترمب: «حان الوقت لمجلس الشيوخ من أجل إقرار قانون الموازنة التاريخي». وأشاد بموافقة مجلس النواب على قانون الموازنة ووصفه بأهم تشريع في تاريخ البلاد.
وأقر مجلس النواب الأمريكي، الذي يسيطر عليه الجمهوريون، اليوم (الخميس)، بفارق صوت واحد، مشروع قانون الضرائب والإنفاق الشامل الذي سينفذ معظم أجندة الرئيس دونالد ترمب السياسية ويثقل كاهل البلاد بديون تقدر بتريليونات الدولارات.
وقال مكتب الموازنة في الكونغرس، وهو مكتب غير حزبي، إن مشروع القانون سيحقق الكثير من تعهدات ترمب الانتخابية الشعبوية وسيمنح إعفاءات ضريبية جديدة على الإكراميات وقروض السيارات وسيزيد الإنفاق على الجيش وحرس الحدود وسيرفع ديون الحكومة الاتحادية البالغة 36.2 تريليون دولار بنحو 3.8 تريليون دولار على مدى العقد القادم.
وأقر المجلس ما وصفه ترمب «بمشروع القانون الكبير والجميل» بموافقة 215 صوتاً مقابل 214 بعد أن صوت كل الديمقراطيين وجمهوريان في المجلس ضده وصوت جمهوري ثالث بأنه «حاضر»، أي لا مع مشروع القانون ولا ضده.
وسيحال مشروع القانون الآن إلى مجلس الشيوخ، الذي يسيطر عليه الجمهوريون، ومن المرجح أن تجرى عليه تغييرات خلال مناقشات تستمر أسابيع.

President Donald Trump called on the Senate to quickly pass the budget bill and send it to his desk as soon as possible, noting that the budget proposal includes massive tax cuts.
Trump added, "It is time for the Senate to pass this historic budget bill." He praised the House of Representatives for approving the budget bill and described it as the most important legislation in the country's history.
The Republican-controlled House of Representatives approved today (Thursday), by a margin of one vote, a comprehensive tax and spending bill that will implement most of President Donald Trump's political agenda and burden the country with debts estimated in the trillions of dollars.
The Congressional Budget Office, a nonpartisan office, stated that the bill will fulfill many of Trump's populist campaign promises, provide new tax exemptions on tips and car loans, increase spending on the military and border security, and raise the federal government’s debt of $36.2 trillion by about $3.8 trillion over the next decade.
The House approved what Trump referred to as "the big, beautiful bill" with a vote of 215 to 214 after all Democrats and two Republicans in the chamber voted against it, while a third Republican voted "present," meaning neither for nor against the bill.
The bill will now be sent to the Senate, which is also controlled by Republicans, and it is likely to undergo changes during discussions that will last for weeks.
