أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، أن الاتفاق التجاري أنقذ الصين من خطر اقتصادي جسيم لكنها انتهكته. وأكد ترمب أن الصين انتهكت تماما الاتفاق التجاري مع الولايات المتحدة.
يذكر أن وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت، قال أمس:«إن الشركاء التجاريين بما فيهم اليابان يواصلون التفاوض مع الولايات المتحدة بحسن نية، ولم يطرأ أي تغير في مواقفهم منذ أن أصدرت محكمة تجارية أمريكية حكما ضد الرسوم الجمركية التي فرضتها إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب في الآونة الأخيرة».
لكن بيسنت قال لفوكس نيوز:«إن المفاوضات التجارية مع الصين متعثرة بعض الشيء، غير أنه توقع إجراء المزيد من المحادثات مع المسؤولين الصينيين في الأسابيع القادمة».
وأضاف بيسنت:«إن الشركاء التجاريين للولايات المتحدة يأتون إلينا بحسن نية ويحاولون إتمام اتفاقيات قبل انتهاء فترة التوقف البالغة 90 يوما؛ لذلك لم نر أي تغير في موقفهم خلال آخر 48 ساعة، وفي الواقع، هناك وفد ياباني كبير جدا سيأتي إلى مكتبي صباح الغد».
وذكرت وول ستريت جورنال يوم الخميس، نقلا عن مصادر مطلعة أن إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب تدرس اتخاذ إجراء بديل بشكل مؤقت لفرض رسوم جمركية على قطاعات كبيرة من الاقتصاد العالمي بموجب قانون قائم يتضمن بنودا تسمح بفرض رسوم جمركية تصل إلى 15% لمدة 150 يوما.

However, Pysent told Fox News: "Trade negotiations with China are somewhat stalled, but he expects more talks with Chinese officials in the coming weeks."
Pysent added: "U.S. trade partners are coming to us in good faith and are trying to finalize agreements before the 90-day pause period ends; therefore, we have not seen any change in their position over the last 48 hours, and in fact, there is a very large Japanese delegation coming to my office tomorrow morning."
The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday, citing informed sources, that the Trump administration is considering taking temporary alternative action to impose tariffs on large sectors of the global economy under an existing law that includes provisions allowing tariffs of up to 15% for 150 days.
