أعرب المخرج محمد عبد العزيز عن سعادته بتكريمه في الدورة الـ46 من مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي، حيث سيحصل على جائزة الهرم الذهبي التقديرية لإنجاز العمر، خلال فعاليات المهرجان المقرر انطلاقه في 12 نوفمبر القادم.

وقال عبد العزيز في تصريح خاص لـ «عكاظ» إن تكريمه من مهرجان عريق بحجم القاهرة السينمائي يعد وساماً على صدره، موضحاً أن إدارة المهرجان تواصلت معه مؤخراً لإبلاغه بالجائزة، ولم يتردد لحظة في الموافقة، ومن ثم حرص عدد كبير من نجوم الفن على تقديم التهاني له بالنجاح.
وأشار المخرج إلى أنه حظي بتكريمات عديدة خلال السنوات الماضية، من أبرزها مهرجان الإسكندرية السينمائي لدول البحر المتوسط، وحفل جوي أورد في السعودية، مؤكداً أن هذه الجائزة تأتي تتويجاً لمسيرة طويلة في مجال السينما والمسرح والتدريس بأكاديمية الفنون.
وفي ما يتعلق بعودته لتقديم أعمال جديدة، قال عبد العزيز إنه يتمنى ذلك بالفعل، لكنه ينتظر المناخ المناسب ليعود بعمل يليق بثقة وحب جمهوره.

يُعتبر المخرج محمد عبد العزيز واحدًا من أبرز صناع الكوميديا في مصر، إذ قدّم على مدار مشواره الفني مجموعة من الأفلام والمسرحيات التي لا تزال شاهدة على إبداعه وتأثيره الكبير. ومنذ بداياته في سبعينات القرن الماضي، استطاع أن يحقق إنجازات راسخة جعلت اسمه من علامات السينما المصرية، حتى وصفه النقاد بـ خليفة المخرج الكبير فطين عبد الوهاب، تقديرًا لمكانته وإسهاماته في إثراء الفن.
استهل المخرج محمد عبد العزيز مشواره الفني بالعمل كمساعد مخرج في مجموعة من الأفلام البارزة مثل القاهرة 30 عام 1966، أبي فوق الشجرة عام 1969، نحن لا نزرع الشوك عام 1970، وثرثرة فوق النيل عام 1971.

Abdel Aziz stated in a special statement to "Okaz" that being honored by a prestigious festival like the Cairo Film Festival is a badge of honor for him, explaining that the festival management recently contacted him to inform him of the award, and he did not hesitate for a moment to accept. Consequently, a large number of art stars were keen to congratulate him on his success.
The director pointed out that he has received numerous honors over the past years, the most notable of which include the Alexandria Film Festival for Mediterranean Countries and the Jawi Award in Saudi Arabia, affirming that this award crowns a long career in cinema, theater, and teaching at the Academy of Arts.
Regarding his return to presenting new works, Abdel Aziz said he indeed hopes for that, but he is waiting for the right atmosphere to return with a work that befits the trust and love of his audience.

Director Mohamed Abdel Aziz is considered one of the most prominent creators of comedy in Egypt, having presented throughout his artistic career a collection of films and plays that continue to testify to his creativity and significant impact. Since his beginnings in the 1970s, he has achieved solid accomplishments that have made his name a hallmark of Egyptian cinema, to the extent that critics have described him as the successor to the great director Fatin Abdel Wahab, in appreciation of his stature and contributions to enriching the art.
Director Mohamed Abdel Aziz began his artistic journey working as an assistant director on a number of notable films such as "Cairo 30" in 1966, "My Father on the Tree" in 1969, "We Do Not Plant Thorns" in 1970, and "Chit Chat Over the Nile" in 1971.
