تحت رعاية ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان، تُنظم وزارة الثقافة مؤتمر الاستثمار الثقافي في دورته الأولى خلال الفترة من 29 إلى 30 سبتمبر الجاري في مركز الملك فهد الثقافي بالرياض، لبحث التوجّهات المستقبلية للاستثمار الثقافي، والإنتاج الإبداعي المستدام، على المستويين المحلي والدولي.
ورفع وزير الثقافة الأمير بدر بن عبدالله بن فرحان، الشكر لولي العهد على رعايته هذا الحدث الثقافي الذي يستضيف أبرز العُقول في القطاع الثقافي محليا ودوليا، وقال: «نُثمن الرعاية الكريمة التي تُمثّل جانبا من اهتمام القيادة الرشيدة بالقطاع الثقافي، وتدعم الاستثمار الثقافي كونه إحدى ركائز التنمية المستدامة، الذي يُعزّز الاقتصاد الوطني، ويوفر فرصا وظيفيّة، ويدعم الصناعات الإبداعية بمختلف أشكالها».
ويُعدُّ هذا المؤتمر الأول من نوعه في المملكة مناسبة سنويّة تفاعليّة بطابعٍ عالمي، وسيجمع بشكل سنوي أطراف المنظومة الثقافية من جهات حكومية وخاصة، مع المستثمرين، والممارسين، والمبدعين، والمهتمين بالشأن الثقافي المحليين والدوليين، وستشهد دورته الأولى (38) جلسة يُشارك فيها أكثر من (100) متحدث من جنسيات متعددة، من بينهم الرئيس التنفيذي لدار سوذبيز تشارلز ستيوارت، ورئيس مجلس إدارة دار كريستيز غيّوم سيروتي، والرئيس التنفيذي لآرت بازل نواه هوروفيتز، والرئيس غير التنفيذي لسوني بيكتشرز إنترتينمنت توني فينتشيكويرا، ومؤسس إيغلز بيكتشرز طارق بن عمار، والحاصل على وسام الإمبراطورية البريطانية رئيس هيئة «هيستوريك إنجلاند» عميد كلية أورييل بجامعة أوكسفورد اللورد نيل ميندوزا، والحاصل على وسام الإمبراطورية البريطانية المؤسس رئيس مجلس إدارة مؤسسة جينيسيس جون ستودزينسكي.
وسيناقش هؤلاء مع بقية حضور المؤتمر أبرز المستجدات والتحدّيات التي تواجه مستقبل الاستثمار في القطاع الثقافي، كما سيبحثون في التوجّهات الاستثمارية الحديثة المرتبطة بالأسواق الثقافية الناشئة، وفي مقدمتها السوق الثقافية الواعدة في المملكة.
وأكد وزير الثقافة أن «القطاع الثقافي يشهد حِراكا نوعيا مدفوعا برؤية المملكة 2030 التي أولت اهتماما كبيرا بالاقتصاد الإبداعي وبضرورة تنميته لرفع نسبة إسهام الثقافة في الناتج المحلي، وهذا المؤتمر سيخدم هذا الهدف الوطني عبر بناء شراكاتٍ فعّالةٍ مع القطاعين العام والخاص؛ لدعم المشاريع الثقافية، وجذب الاستثمارات للقطاع الثقافي، وتحفيز ريادة الأعمال في جميع المجالات الإبداعية».
ويمثّلُ «مؤتمر الاستثمار الثقافي» إحدى أبرز المبادرات الثقافية النوعية التي تنظمها وزارة الثقافة في سياق التزامها بتمكين القطاع الثقافي، وتحويله إلى رافدٍ اقتصادي يُسهم في تحقيق مستهدفات رؤية 2030، ضمن جهود تأسيسية بذلتها الوزارة لإيجاد سوق ثقافية مستدامة، تدعم الاقتصاد الوطني، وتطور الصناعات الثقافية، وتخدم المبدع والمستهلك على حد سواء.
ويسعى المؤتمر من خلال جلساته وحواراته المتعددة إلى استشراف مستقبل الاستثمار الثقافي من منظور إستراتيجي، ينطلق من محورية الثقافة في التنمية وبناء الإنسان، وتهيئة فضاءات حضارية يجد فيها المبدعون مناخا مثاليا للتعبير الإبداعي، وتنمو معها سوق ثقافية يستفيد منها المستهلك والمستثمر على حد سواء، وذلك لكون الثقافة أصلا تنمويا يؤثر في الناتج المحلي، ويُتيح فرص العمل والإنتاج لمختلف فئات المجتمع ذات الارتباط بالمجالات الثقافية.
ويأتي المؤتمر في ظل نمو مُتصاعد للقطاع الثقافي السعودي الذي يمتلك مقومات مشجعة لصناعة ثقافية مستدامة، حيث تم إصدار أكثر من (9) آلاف ترخيص ثقافي لممارسين محترفين، إلى جانب نمو عدد الجمعيات والمؤسسات والأندية الثقافية في القطاع غير الربحي من (28) في 2017 إلى (993) في 2024، ويضاف إلى ذلك حوافز الإنتاج التي تقدمها المنظومة الثقافية بقيادة وزارة الثقافة للمنتجين والمستثمرين في مختلف الصناعات الإبداعية، وتقديم حلول تأمينية ثقافية، تُساعد في مجموعها على توسيع دائرة الاستثمار الثقافي، وتوفر فرصا مستدامة للنمو في مجالات الاقتصاد الإبداعي
Under the patronage of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Ministry of Culture is organizing the first edition of the Cultural Investment Conference from September 29 to 30 at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh, to discuss future trends in cultural investment and sustainable creative production at both local and international levels.
The Minister of Culture, Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, expressed his gratitude to the Crown Prince for sponsoring this cultural event, which hosts some of the most prominent minds in the cultural sector both locally and internationally. He said: “We appreciate the generous sponsorship that represents a part of the leadership's interest in the cultural sector, and supports cultural investment as one of the pillars of sustainable development, which enhances the national economy, provides job opportunities, and supports creative industries in all their forms.”
This conference is the first of its kind in the Kingdom and will be an annual interactive event with a global character. It will annually bring together stakeholders from the cultural ecosystem, including government and private entities, investors, practitioners, creators, and those interested in local and international cultural affairs. The first edition will feature (38) sessions with more than (100) speakers from various nationalities, including Charles Stewart, CEO of Sotheby’s; Guillaume Cerutti, Chairman of Christie’s; Noah Horowitz, CEO of Art Basel; Tony Vinciquerra, Non-Executive Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment; Tarek Ben Ammar, Founder of Eagle Pictures; Lord Neil Mendoza, who holds the British Empire Medal and is the Chairman of Historic England and Dean of Oriel College at the University of Oxford; and John Studzinski, who holds the British Empire Medal and is the Founder and Chairman of the Genesis Foundation.
These speakers will discuss with the rest of the conference attendees the latest developments and challenges facing the future of investment in the cultural sector, as well as explore modern investment trends related to emerging cultural markets, notably the promising cultural market in the Kingdom.
The Minister of Culture emphasized that “the cultural sector is witnessing a qualitative movement driven by Saudi Vision 2030, which has placed significant emphasis on the creative economy and the necessity of its development to increase the contribution of culture to the GDP. This conference will serve this national goal by building effective partnerships with both the public and private sectors to support cultural projects, attract investments to the cultural sector, and stimulate entrepreneurship in all creative fields.”
The “Cultural Investment Conference” represents one of the most prominent qualitative cultural initiatives organized by the Ministry of Culture in line with its commitment to empower the cultural sector and transform it into an economic contributor that helps achieve the objectives of Vision 2030. This is part of foundational efforts made by the ministry to create a sustainable cultural market that supports the national economy, develops cultural industries, and serves both creators and consumers alike.
The conference aims, through its various sessions and discussions, to anticipate the future of cultural investment from a strategic perspective, focusing on the centrality of culture in development and human building, and preparing civilizational spaces where creators find an ideal environment for creative expression, alongside a growing cultural market that benefits both consumers and investors. This is because culture is a developmental asset that impacts the GDP and provides job and production opportunities for various segments of society connected to cultural fields.
The conference comes amid a rising growth in the Saudi cultural sector, which possesses encouraging components for a sustainable cultural industry. More than (9,000) cultural licenses have been issued for professional practitioners, alongside the growth of the number of associations, institutions, and cultural clubs in the non-profit sector from (28) in 2017 to (993) in 2024. Additionally, there are production incentives provided by the cultural system led by the Ministry of Culture for producers and investors in various creative industries, along with cultural insurance solutions that collectively help expand the scope of cultural investment and provide sustainable growth opportunities in the fields of the creative economy.
