رشحت جمعية الأدب المهنية 25 رواية سعودية من أصل 100 عمل سردي، لمشروع «تحويل الرواية السعودية إلى سيناريو سينمائي». وأوضح الرئيس التنفيذي لجمعية الأدب عبدالله مفتاح أن القائمة الطويلة المرشحة خضعت لـ12 معياراً دقيقاً خاصاً بالمشروع، مؤكداً أن القائمة ستخضع -مجدداً- لمعايير أكثر صرامة في المرحلة القادمة، لترشيح قائمة قصيرة، تضم 6 روايات، يتم الإعلان عنها عقب اكتمال عمل اللجنة.
وأضاف بأن المرحلة الأولى من المشروع ستبدأ بـ3 روايات تدفع الجمعية بها إلى كُتّاب سيناريو محترفين لتحويلها إلى سيناريو سينمائي، لينتهي القسم الأول من المشروع بنسخته الأولى، لافتاً إلى أن القسم الآخر من المشروع يتمثل في إقامة حفل تتم فيه دعوة المهتمين بالرواية والسينما من أكاديميين وروائيين ومخرجين وشركات إنتاج وكُتّاب سيناريو، وخلال الحفل يعرض فيلم سينمائي قصير -لا يتجاوز 15 دقيقة- مقتبس من إحدى الروايات الفائزة، وتعقد 3 جلسات حوارية، كل جلسة تحمل عنوان رواية فائزة، وتستضيف الجلسات كاتب الرواية، وكاتب السيناريو، وأحد المخرجين، وإحدى شركات الإنتاج لتسليط الضوء على العمل الفائز وعلى السيناريو المكتوب عليه.
The Professional Literature Association has nominated 25 Saudi novels out of 100 narrative works for the project "Transforming Saudi Novels into Film Scripts." The CEO of the Literature Association, Abdullah Muftah, explained that the long list of nominees underwent 12 specific criteria related to the project, emphasizing that the list will again be subjected to stricter standards in the upcoming phase to nominate a short list comprising 6 novels, which will be announced after the committee's work is completed.
He added that the first phase of the project will begin with 3 novels that the association will present to professional screenwriters to transform them into film scripts, concluding the first section of the project with its initial version. He pointed out that the other section of the project involves holding a ceremony to invite those interested in novels and cinema, including academics, novelists, directors, production companies, and screenwriters. During the ceremony, a short film—lasting no more than 15 minutes—adapted from one of the winning novels will be screened, and three discussion sessions will be held, each titled after a winning novel. The sessions will host the novelist, the screenwriter, one of the directors, and one of the production companies to highlight the winning work and the script written for it.
