The term "toxic positivity" may seem contradictory to some, like a phrase read in philosophy books or a fancy description of hypocrisy, but in reality, it means ignoring painful emotions under the pretext of looking on the bright side. Its definition may not sound that bad, but it can turn your small feelings into a hell of regret and self-deception.
It may manifest in phrases like: "Stay positive," or "It's simpler than that," "Others are suffering more than you."
You may have whispered these phrases to yourself one day, or they may have been said to you by someone else, but in either case, the feeling that follows them is not positive; rather, it is a false, manufactured joy - if you are deluded - that is enough to be called joy at first.
To find a place to put the fake feelings, you have to "kill" the other feelings, the unwanted bad feelings, but what you don't know is that these feelings you have killed never truly died; they remain inside the soul until they rot. And the rotting of the soul is not like the rotting of the body, which may decompose over time; rather, the soul remains burdened in its place.
Therefore, it is part of God's wisdom that He created man as a mixture of light and darkness, of calm and storm. Just as the sea is not asked to be calm all the time, neither is the human heart asked to be clear all the time. However, with the acceleration of time and the continuous competition around us, the human pursuit of positivity and constant perfection makes him feel regret for acting like a human and forgetting that a heart that does not know sadness will not distinguish joy.
Finally:
The absolute solution to toxic positivity may be to be positive to the extent of your endurance, and your capacity for endurance is all you need.
