Creative writing was the first manifestation of human consciousness, and its journey has also been long and arduous, beginning with the carving of letters, passing through the trials of primitive recording, until it reached an era where ideas are born with just a touch of a finger, a beautiful reality rather than a frightening future.
Small details create great leaps; for example, just a few decades ago, when we needed to type the word "Khalid" on the typewriter - which was advanced at that time - we lacked space, time, and focus, and it required knowing the position of each letter, passing it through at least four possibilities for the shape of the letter: initial, middle, final, or standalone, depending on its position in the word.
Writing was not an instantaneous act, but a process that required visual and mechanical effort, and patience.
Then came the keyboard, which liberated writing from mechanical constraints, allowing the letter to change automatically according to what comes before and after it. Today, we no longer need to write the letter in full; the word anticipates itself, the sentence is envisioned before it is complete, and the meaning is formed before it is spoken. This is not magic, but "artificial intelligence" that understands us if we understand it.
Artificial intelligence is not just a technological leap; it is a natural evolution of a series of possibilities that humans have created throughout history. Every stage of human development was based on tools: from the hammer, to the printer, to word processors, to intelligent systems that do not merely understand language but generate it, analyze it, suggest, rephrase, and create meaning.
However, all of this, at its core, is not a substitute for the creative human. No matter how advanced artificial intelligence becomes, it does not create from nothing; it does not inspire, dream, suffer, or write because an idea sprouted in its heart.
Rather, it is a mirror that reflects, an engine that accelerates, and a tool that masters, much like a calculator and its derivatives!
The fear of artificial intelligence, or what is known as "smart machine phobia," is essentially a doubt in ability and a fear of the future, not of technology.
It is feared by the employee who does not learn, the writer who does not develop their tools, and the lazy person who has stopped at one point of their self.
But the truth is that artificial intelligence does not exclude the creative individual; rather, it amplifies their impact, enriches their capabilities, and highlights their potential. However, this requires clever skill in engineering commands and delving into directing AI. What the human mind accomplishes in hours, artificial intelligence can expand in minutes, rearrange, model, and test in multiple environments.
In fields such as analysis, statistics, digitization, organization, guidance, and even prediction, artificial intelligence has become an element that cannot be ignored.
Yet, despite all its capabilities, it still needs the initial idea, the first sentence, the meaning that pulses from a human mind and creative sensibility..
If we truly want to invest in artificial intelligence, we must first invest in human intelligence, for without a creative mind, the greatest machine has no meaning. And without an idea, the smartest algorithm has no value.
In the end, artificial intelligence is not an adversary.
Rather, it is the natural technical extension of the writer, designer, thinker, and innovator, for anyone who knows that true creativity cannot be reduced to code and programming.
