بدأت أحداث الفاجعة في منطقة جكوك، حيث احتدم الخلاف العائلي على تقسيم المزارع أو الأموال، ليقرر الشاب حسم النزاع بطريقته الخاصة مسدداً طلقات قاتلة من بندقية صيد نحو عمه الذي فارق الحياة فوراً. ولم تأخذ العدالة وقتاً طويلاً للتحرك، إذ تلقت قيادة شرطة بغداد الكرخ بلاغاً فورياً بالواقعة، لتستنفر المفارز الأمنية وتباشر عمليات التحري المكثفة التي أفضت إلى تحديد هوية الجاني وضبطه متلبساً برفقة سلاح الجريمة المتمثل ببندقية كلاشنكوف ومخزن يحوي 25 طلقة.
تعيد هذه الجريمة الصادمة فتح الملفات المؤلمة لجرائم العنف الأسري في الشارع العراقي، حيث تشتعل الخلافات المادية لتخلف وراءها أرواحاً تزهق ومآسٍ تفطر القلوب، بينما تتواصل الإجراءات القانونية بحق المتهم لإحالته إلى القضاء لينال جزاءه العادل.

Justice did not take long to act, as the Baghdad Karkh Police Command received an immediate report of the incident, prompting security forces to mobilize and begin intensive investigations that led to identifying the perpetrator and apprehending him in the act, along with the weapon used in the crime, which was an AK-47 rifle with a magazine containing 25 rounds.
This shocking crime reopens painful files of domestic violence crimes on the Iraqi street, where material disputes ignite, leaving behind lost lives and tragedies that break hearts, while legal proceedings continue against the accused to refer him to court to receive his just punishment.
