في مشهد غير مألوف، تحولت شجرة معمّرة تتوسط أحد الطرق العامة في مدينة عثمانية التركية إلى معلم لافت يجذب السكان والزوار، بعدما اختارت البلدية الإبقاء عليها خلال أعمال تنظيم المنطقة، لتصبح اليوم واقفة في منتصف الطريق بدلاً من أن تختفي تحت أعمال التطوير.
وتقع الشجرة، التي تنتمي إلى أحد أصناف السرو، في شارع «إلبر أورتايلي» بحي «فاكي أوشاغي»، وتفصل أحد مساري الطريق عن مسارين يسيران في الاتجاه نفسه، في مشهد أثار فضول المارة ودفع كثيرين إلى التوقف لالتقاط الصور بجوارها.
وبحسب تقارير محلية، تحوّل الحي إلى وجهة أكثر نشاطاً للزوار والمصورين بعد الحفاظ على الشجرة وتنظيم المساحة المحيطة بها، لتنتقل قصتها من مجرد شجرة قديمة في المنطقة إلى مشهد متداول عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
ولم يقتصر تأثير الشجرة على جذب الزوار والتقاط الصور، بل امتد إلى النشاط التجاري في المنطقة، إذ أكد أصحاب المحلات الواقعة في الشارع أن زيادة أعداد الزوار ساهمت في إنعاش حركة البيع، بعدما كان المكان يشهد في السابق حركة محدودة من السيارات والزوار.
من أرض عائلية إلى وسط الطريق
وكانت الشجرة في الماضي تقع داخل أرض مملوكة لعائلة محلية، ويُعتقد أن عمرها يعود إلى نحو 200 عام، قبل أن تدخل المنطقة ضمن مشروع لاستملَاك الأراضي وتنظيم الطريق.
ومع أعمال التطوير، كان مصير الشجرة مرشحاً للقطع، إلا أن قرار الإبقاء عليها غيّر شكل المكان بالكامل، وحوّلها إلى واحدة من أبرز نقاط الجذب في الحي، لتثبت أن الحفاظ على معلم طبيعي قديم يمكن أن يمنح منطقة عادية هوية جديدة، ويصنع منها وجهة يقصدها الناس.
In an unusual scene, an ancient tree located in the middle of a public road in the Turkish city of Osmaniye has become a striking landmark attracting residents and visitors, after the municipality chose to keep it during the area’s organization works, making it stand today in the middle of the road instead of disappearing under development efforts.
The tree, which belongs to a species of cypress, is located on "Elbir Ortayli" Street in the "Vaki Oşagı" neighborhood, separating one lane of the road from two lanes moving in the same direction, in a scene that piqued the curiosity of passersby and prompted many to stop and take photos next to it.
According to local reports, the neighborhood has turned into a more vibrant destination for visitors and photographers after preserving the tree and organizing the surrounding area, transforming its story from just an old tree in the region to a widely shared scene on social media.
The tree's impact has not been limited to attracting visitors and photo opportunities; it has also extended to commercial activity in the area, as shop owners located on the street confirmed that the increase in visitor numbers has contributed to revitalizing sales, after the place previously experienced limited traffic from cars and visitors.
From Family Land to the Middle of the Road
In the past, the tree was located within land owned by a local family, and it is believed to be around 200 years old, before the area was included in a project for land expropriation and road organization.
With the development works, the tree was at risk of being cut down, but the decision to keep it completely changed the character of the place, turning it into one of the main attractions in the neighborhood, proving that preserving an old natural landmark can give an ordinary area a new identity and make it a destination for people.
