أثار ظهور سمكة استوائية في بحيرة روسية باردة حالة من الدهشة بين الصيادين في مقاطعة نوفغورود، بعد أن وقعت في شباك مجموعة من صيادي قرية فزفاد سمكة من نوع البلطي؛ وهي فصيلة لا تعيش عادةً إلا في المياه الدافئة في إفريقيا والشرق الأوسط وأمريكا الجنوبية.
وقال رئيس لجنة الصيد وتربية الأسماك في المنطقة دميتري غرافوف: إن الصيادين اصطادوا سمكة (تيليبيا) داخل بحيرة (إلمين)، في واقعة غير مألوفة على الإطلاق في بيئة مائية تُعرف ببرودتها القاسية. وأضاف في منشور عبر منصة (فكونتاكتي) أن السمكة تُعد «ضيفًا غريبًا لم يُرَ له مثيل هنا من قبل»، متسائلًا بلهجة تجمع بين الدهشة والطرافة: «كيف وجدت هذه الحسناء الاستوائية طريقها إلى مياه بحيرة إلمين السلافية العريقة والجليدية؟».
وأشار غرافوف إلى أن وجود هذا النوع في بحيرة شمالية يُعد أمرًا محيّرًا، مرجحًا احتمال هروبها من بركة خاصة أو حوض أسماك منزلي، قبل أن يضيف: «من يدري ما الأسرار التي تخبئها بحيرة إلمين الأسطورية؟».
وتنتمي سمكة البلطي إلى فصيلة محبة للحرارة، ولا يمكن العثور عليها في روسيا إلا داخل مزارع متخصصة في المناطق الجنوبية، ما يجعل ظهورها في بحيرة باردة بهذا الشكل حدثًا نادرًا يثير تساؤلات حول مصدرها وظروف وصولها إلى المنطقة.
The appearance of a tropical fish in a cold Russian lake has caused astonishment among fishermen in the Novgorod region, after it was caught in the nets of a group of fishermen from the village of Vzvadi. The fish is of the tilapia species, which typically only lives in warm waters in Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
The head of the fishing and aquaculture committee in the region, Dmitry Grafov, stated that the fishermen caught a (tilapia) fish inside Lake (Ilmen), in an occurrence that is completely unusual in an aquatic environment known for its harsh coldness. He added in a post on the (VKontakte) platform that the fish is considered "a strange guest that has never been seen here before," questioning with a tone that combines astonishment and humor: "How did this tropical beauty find its way to the ancient and icy waters of Lake Ilmen?"
Grafov pointed out that the presence of this species in a northern lake is puzzling, suggesting the possibility that it escaped from a private pond or a home aquarium, before adding: "Who knows what secrets the legendary Lake Ilmen holds?"
The tilapia fish belongs to a heat-loving species and can only be found in Russia within specialized farms in the southern regions, making its appearance in a cold lake in this manner a rare event that raises questions about its origin and the circumstances of its arrival in the area.
