أعلنت وزارة الداخلية الكويتية ضبط مقيم مصري يعمل حارس أمن في أحد المستشفيات الحكومية، وكويتية تعمل في المستشفى نفسه، للاشتباه في تورطهما بقضية تتعلق ببيع واستخدام طوابع حكومية مزورة والاستيلاء على الرسوم المستحقة للدولة.
وأوضحت الوزارة في بيان أن قطاع شؤون الأمن الجنائي، ممثلاً بإدارة الشرطة الجنائية العربية والدولية (الإنتربول)، تمكن من كشف القضية بعد إجراء عمليات بحث وتحرٍ أسفرت عن ضبط المتهم الأول، إذ عُثر بحوزته على عدد من الطوابع الحكومية المزورة.
وأفادت بأن التحقيق مع المتهم قاد إلى تحديد هوية المتهمة الثانية، التي جرى ضبطها لاحقاً، وعُثر بحوزتها على طوابع مزورة مماثلة. كما وثقت الجهات المختصة قيامها بإنجاز إحدى المعاملات باستخدام طابع حكومي مزور مقابل مبلغ مالي.
وخلال التحقيق، أقرت المتهمة باستغلال طبيعة عملها لتحقيق مكاسب مالية، من خلال تمرير معاملات باستخدام طوابع حكومية مزورة، مع الاحتفاظ بالطوابع الأصلية وإعادة استخدامها في معاملات أخرى. كما اعترفت بنزع طوابع سبق استخدامها من معاملات محفوظة وإعادة توظيفها في معاملات جديدة.
وأكدت وزارة الداخلية إحالة المتهمين، إلى جانب المضبوطات، إلى جهة الاختصاص لاستكمال الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحقهما.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of an Egyptian resident working as a security guard in one of the government hospitals, and a Kuwaiti woman working in the same hospital, on suspicion of their involvement in a case related to the sale and use of counterfeit government stamps and embezzlement of fees owed to the state.
The ministry clarified in a statement that the Criminal Security Affairs Sector, represented by the Arab and International Criminal Police (Interpol), was able to uncover the case after conducting search and investigation operations that resulted in the arrest of the first suspect, who was found in possession of several counterfeit government stamps.
It reported that the investigation with the suspect led to the identification of the second suspect, who was later arrested, and counterfeit stamps similar to those of the first suspect were found in her possession. The relevant authorities documented her completion of one transaction using a counterfeit government stamp in exchange for a monetary amount.
During the investigation, the suspect admitted to exploiting her job to achieve financial gains by processing transactions using counterfeit government stamps while retaining the original stamps and reusing them in other transactions. She also confessed to removing stamps previously used from archived transactions and re-employing them in new transactions.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the suspects, along with the seized items, have been referred to the competent authority to complete the necessary legal procedures against them.
