في واقعة هزت الشارع التونسي وألقت بظلال من الصدمة والحزن، أقدم رجل في العقد الرابع من عمره على إنهاء حياة زوجته الحامل بتوأم خنقاً، قبل أن يتوجه بنفسه إلى مركز الأمن ليسلم نفسه للسلطات بعد دقائق معدودة من ارتكاب جريمته في منطقة حي التحرير بالعاصمة.
وتحركت الوحدات الأمنية فور تلقي البلاغ، وباشرت الجهات القضائية بالتنسيق مع النيابة العامة إجراءاتها العاجلة، حيث أُذن بفتح تحقيق شامل لكشف ملابسات الحادثة. وخلال التحقيقات الأولية، أقر المشتبه به بأن خلافات عائلية متراكمة كانت تشتعل بينه وبين زوجته على مدى أيام، لتتطور الأمور تدريجياً وتتحول إلى شجار عنيف أنهى فيه حياة شريكة حياته.
وجرى نقل جثمان الضحية إلى مصلحة الطب الشرعي للوقوف على الأسباب الدقيقة للوفاة واستكمال الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة بحق المتهم، وسط موجة عارمة من الاستنكار والغضب الشعبي في تونس، ومطالبات مجتمعية واسعة بتشديد العقوبات وإنزال أقصى القصاص بحق مرتكبي العنف الأسري.
In an incident that shook the Tunisian street and cast shadows of shock and sadness, a man in his forties ended the life of his pregnant wife, who was expecting twins, by strangulation, before he himself went to the police station to surrender to the authorities just minutes after committing his crime in the Al-Tahrir neighborhood of the capital.
Security units moved immediately upon receiving the report, and the judicial authorities, in coordination with the public prosecutor's office, began urgent procedures, as a comprehensive investigation was authorized to uncover the circumstances of the incident. During the initial investigations, the suspect admitted that accumulated family disputes had been escalating between him and his wife for days, leading to a violent altercation that ended the life of his partner.
The victim's body was transferred to the forensic medicine department to determine the exact causes of death and to complete the necessary legal procedures against the accused, amidst a wave of widespread public condemnation and anger in Tunisia, along with extensive community demands to tighten penalties and impose the harshest retribution against perpetrators of domestic violence.
