شهدت العاصمة العراقية بغداد جريمة مروعة هزت أوساط حي الغزالية، بعدما تحول خلاف اعتيادي على سلك كهربائي خاص بمولد أهلي إلى مشاجرة مسلحة عنيفة، أسفرت عن مقتل شخصين وإصابة الأمن المحلي بحالة استنفار.
وبحسب ما أوردته وسائل إعلام محلية، فإن شرارة الحادثة بدأت بمشادة كلامية حادة بين خمسة أشخاص وصاحب مولد أهلي يزود الحي بالطاقة في منطقة الغزالية (غربي العاصمة)، بسبب خلاف على «واير سحب» (سلك توصيل). وسرعان ما خرجت الأمور عن السيطرة؛ إذ تطورت المشاجرة اللفظية إلى مواجهة مسلحة وتبادل عنيف لإطلاق النار باستخدام المسدسات.
نهاية دموية وتدخل أمني حاسم
المواجهة المسلحة لم تنتهِ إلا بفاجعة؛ إذ أسفر تبادل إطلاق النار عن مقتل صاحب المولد وشخص آخر من الطرف الثاني في الحال، قبل أن تتدخل القوات الأمنية بقوة للسيطرة على الموقف وإيقاف نزيف الدماء في المنطقة.
وفور وصولها، فرضت الأجهزة الأمنية طوقاً محكماً حول مسرح الجريمة، وتمكنت من التحفظ على بقية أطراف المشاجرة واقتيادهم للاحتجاز. وفي غضون ذلك، نُقلت جثتا الضحيتين إلى دائرة الطب العدلي، فيما باشرت السلطات تحقيقاً موسعاً للكشف عن الملابسات الكاملة للحادثة، تمهيداً لتقديم المتورطين إلى العدالة ومحاسبتهم وفقاً للقانون.
The Iraqi capital, Baghdad, witnessed a horrific crime that shook the Al-Ghazaliyah neighborhood, after a routine dispute over a private electrical wire for a generator escalated into a violent armed brawl, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and putting local security on high alert.
According to local media reports, the spark of the incident began with a heated verbal altercation between five individuals and the owner of a generator supplying power to the neighborhood in the Al-Ghazaliyah area (west of the capital), due to a dispute over a "pull wire" (connection wire). Things quickly spiraled out of control; the verbal fight escalated into an armed confrontation and a violent exchange of gunfire using pistols.
A bloody end and decisive security intervention
The armed confrontation only ended in tragedy; the exchange of gunfire resulted in the immediate deaths of the generator owner and another individual from the opposing side, before security forces intervened forcefully to regain control of the situation and stop the bloodshed in the area.
Upon their arrival, the security forces imposed a tight cordon around the crime scene and were able to detain the remaining parties involved in the brawl. Meanwhile, the bodies of the victims were transferred to the forensic medicine department, while the authorities began an extensive investigation to uncover the full circumstances of the incident, in preparation for bringing those involved to justice and holding them accountable under the law.
