ضرب زلزال بقوة 6.3 درجة على مقياس ريختر، أمس، شمال أفغانستان.
وأفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية، بأن الزلزال الذي بلغ عمقه 10 كيلومترات وقع في خُلم القريبة من مدينة مزار شريف وشعر سكان مناطق بعيدة، منها العاصمة كابول، بالهزات.
وفي نهاية أغسطس الماضي، ضرب زلزال بقوة 6 درجات شرق البلاد، مودياً بحياة أكثر من 2200 شخص.
وفي أكتوبر 2023، ضرب زلزال بلغت شدته 6.3 درجة، تبعته سلسلة من الهزات الارتدادية القوية، ولاية هرات في غرب أفغانستان، ما أسفر عن مقتل أكثر من 1500 شخص.
وتتعرض أفغانستان الواقعة عند تقاطع الصفائح التكتونية الأوراسية والهندية للزلازل بشكل متكرر.
A 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck northern Afghanistan yesterday.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported that the earthquake, which had a depth of 10 kilometers, occurred in Khulm near the city of Mazar-i-Sharif, and residents in distant areas, including the capital Kabul, felt the tremors.
At the end of August, a 6 magnitude earthquake hit the eastern part of the country, resulting in the deaths of more than 2,200 people.
In October 2023, a 6.3 magnitude earthquake struck, followed by a series of strong aftershocks, in Herat province in western Afghanistan, leading to the deaths of over 1,500 people.
